Fantastic news for the region; the D-Day beaches have been granted UNESCO World Heritage status due to their importance to the history of humanity. Added to the growing importance of the Marais Regional Park as a nesting site for migratory bird species makes the Cotentin Peninsula a really exciting destination. (Plus lazing on the sands of nearly empty golden beaches isn’t too bad either)

A bit of a surprise this morning to look out and see 16 new guests on the campsite! The local farmer’s cows came to us in search of greener pasture… they’ve had a good feed and have now returned home. 😊

It’s great to see our campsite and our B&B full. Of course it’s our business now, but it’s also our passion and to have so many guests share it with us is really amazing! Cheers to a long summer in the Normandy sunshine. 🥂🍾😊

Here at Le Clos Castel we’ve made the leap post-Brexit and we’ve put together an experience based 5 day package to help others avoid some of the pitfalls we’ve encountered along our journey.

If you’d like to know more about the pilot event running in late summer please email us directly and I’ll add you to our mailing list.

Places are strictly limited to 8 participants (couples or individuals in shared twin rooms) and we would very much like to know if you would be happy to be filmed for TV during the week.

If you’re looking for any early summer break there’s no better time than the present. The Cotentin Peninsula enjoys the Atlantic Ocean breeze and hence stays far fresher than inland / southern regions! 😎 (but still enjoys plenty of sunshine)

The time has come to re-treat the wood at Le Clos Castel and protect it against any possible future threats… unfortunately things have to be done on a rather large scale here! A job for the closed season.
