So Vide Grenier season is in full-swing here in Normandy now, literally it translates to ‘empty attic’ but think of a car-boot sale held in a different town or village every weekend. They’re a great way to enjoy French life whilst also searching for a bargain!

Today’s find is a perfect condition telescope for €10… definitely looking forward to the moon rising tonight! 🔭😊

Roofing work next job!

Yesterday was our first properly hot day of the season so far! 😎 Once our jobs were done we took the opportunity to take a walk along our favourite beach (from Creances to Pirou) and were surprised to find a fair in progress; the foire au bulots translates literally to the whelk fair but it’s actually a market, fair and a town car-boot sale combined.

No bargains to be had unfortunately as we still had the 3km walk back along the beach to the car. 😢

A great day , these fairs are common across towns and villages in france across the summer months.

Are you sat at home worrying about the news?

Why not come and enjoy the Cotentin Peninsula and forget about the rest for a while! We’re seeing more and more guests use us as a base to explore this fantastic area without clocking up Artemis type mileage.

With Caen, Cherbourg, Barfleur and Granville all within the hour and Le Mont St Michel just over there really is loads to see and do.

At the moment the weather’s lovely, the beaches are quiet AND we’ve got a special offer running in our B&B rooms until the end of April. (10 euros reduction per room, per night)
