🩸Welcome in the red room. This week’s collection piece is Lacrimae by Didier Tisseyre, an object in glass and metal wire. Tisseyre was born in 1958, he lives and works in France. The artist discovered glass as an artistic material at the Centre International du Verre et Arts Plastiques in Marseille and went on to study casting techniques in the Czech Republic. Tisseyre traveled the world, a journey that reflects in his thoughtful, often symbolic works.

❓Pretty in red. Let’s tell you a secret. Guests usually ask upon arrival if the gardener has left his waterhose in the garden. What would you say? Lazy gardener? Nope. It’s part of our outside garden art installations. There are a few more to discover, but this is admittedly an eyecatcher.

🖌 Upon entering the art gallery from the street side, this is the first room you will encounter on your left side. It is filled with objects that you can purchase and take home. Our artistic director Leo will tell you every single detail about the artists and the art. He will gladly show you around. The gallery is obviously open as well for non-guests.

- Yes, you can swim in it.
- Yes, it is heated.
- No, it doesn’t have an Olympic size.
- Yes, you can have your drink at, not in the pool.
- Yes, it makes a damn good selfie.

🚿 Peek-a-boo! Have you ever seen a shower this profoundly cobalt blue? The paint on several walls has been adjusted with a special technique that makes it feel as an extra layer. Just go with your finger on top and you will see what we mean. All is part of the big Chambre avec Vue experience, for a truly unforgettable and remarkable holiday in the South of France.

☕️🌳 Say hi to our lovely neighbours! Christine operates a great little bistro where you can grab a wholesome and typical lunch (hint: she makes the best omelettes ever!) and buy your fresh croissants and baguette in the morning. Sweet tooth? The pastries are homemade, don’t tell anyone we have sent you for the chocolate éclair. Or yes please, tell everyone. We love them. And we love you.

✍️ The Luberon light has inspired lots of amateur artists and painters to find a shady spot in the nature. We encountered this gentleman on our walk to Apt and thought to give him a shoutout! It’s all part of the ambient and setting.

🫒🍷 We know. There was an aperitivo moment a few days ago on this page. Then someone told us that you might as well actually SEE what it’s all about. So we got started, served the rosé (sorry, out of Rinquinquin), bought some goat cheeses and verrrry old Comté on the market, and there might have been some sausage and olives as well. 🧺🍋 Planned your holiday? Packed the suitcases? Didn’t forget to water the plants and feed the tortoises? Once you arrive in Saignon, you will be entertained by the Provençal village life. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and if you want to cook up your own meal, we gladly suggest the organic farmers market in nearby Apt (the stuff on the market is organic, not the farmers – although… 🤔. It is an hour long hike or just a ten minute ride downhill.

Chambre avec Vue is full of quaint little surprises, and sometimes you can take that quite literally. The walls of our .art gallery are decorated with beautiful ‘fragments de vie’, left behind by one of our resident artists. Have a stroll through the corridors and go discover all the pieces that are smaller, and somehow also bigger than life itself.
