Guimondiere Holiday Gite

Yesterday was a busy day, opening the pool, cleaning the patio and furniture, grass cutting, hot tub clean, refilled and lit ready for our guests to enjoy as soon as they arrived.
We still managed to enjoy gorgeous cakes in the shade on a break.
It’s all worth it when the guests arrived and absolutely loved the house and gardens, and their little girl lived the pool, and relax.

The unit is finished and in the lounge, it took longer than I anticipated as it was done around other things that were more urgent but I am happy with the result, what does everyone think?

We’ve had some amazing guests this month, they really enjoyed the area and then returning to the peace and quiet of the gite and garden, not to mention the games barn and hot tub.
It’s wonderful to know our guests have an amazing time and then take the time to write amazing reviews in the guest book.

Here’s an update on the buffet unit, the last two days have been super busy so I’ve not had loads of time to spend on it. But I did end up down a rabbit hole, it’s gone from a quick sand and paint to stripped!! The old paint wasn’t adhered very well so off it came.
I’ve plans in my head to complete it but they’re on hold as we’ve got guests arriving on Saturday so we’ve got lots of gardening and whirlpool bath prep to do. Buffet update next week.

I didn’t get to sand the unit today, I want to do it outside and it was raining today, but look at the metal work, wow soaked overnight in vinegar then wire brushed.
Question is do I use oil to darken it by polymerises or leave it raw?
Not sure the tea towel will survive!!!

Guests arrived late last night after a long drive to beautiful clear starry skies, hot tub at the perfect temperature ready for them to enjoy and a few treats too. Today they told me it was perfect and are already talking about returning. To hear this and them laughing in the garden makes all the work totally worth it, we just want our guests to unwind and enjoy, which they are certainly doing
