A superb area for walking, cycling, ATB, biking, and minutes away from the large wintersports area, Superbesse/Le Mont Dore. Parapenters have a large choice of jump off points, accesible by road or cable car. In the many streams and crater lakes there are excellent (fly) fishing opportunities. Auberge the la Providence reopened its doors 2010, after a thorough renovation of all the rooms with new bathrooms, insulation, decoration and comfortable furniture. All our rooms are spacious with a separate sitting or dressing area. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a large modern tiled shower, toilet and sink. The family room ‘Himalaya’ even has a ‘family shower of 120cmx100cm with a rain shower. We have two rooms with a double bed, one room with an additional third bed en one family room that has one double bed and two single beds. Each room has space for one or more additional fold-out beds. Please contact us for additional information. All rooms are nicely decorated based on one of the major mountain ranges of the world we have visited during our travels. Wall decoration and accessories originate from each area and give our guests a true feeling of being in a mountain retreat. We aim to create a homely atmosphere in which our guests feel completely at ease. We’ll be happy to advise you on the different walking routes and other activites. Alternatively, we have a sunny garden with deck chairs for a relaxing day. At the end of the day our guests are welcome to relax in a comfortable chair in front of our large Auvergnate fireplace with a book from our library or in our cosy bar. We also have a nice sunny garden with deck chairs. We provide guests with personal attention and an atmosphere where they feel at home and experience an unforgettable holiday. Children don’t have to feel bored, since we have a large selection of toys, games, a Wii, table tennis, shuffle board and DVD’s to choose from. In our restaurant we serve a mix of home-made traditional auvergnate and international dishes. The Auvergne is famous for it’s rich culinair traditions and in our restaurant you can savor famous local disches such as Truffade, Chou Farci, Truite Auvergnate or even Tête de Veau or Pork Cheeks! We also like to accommodate vegetarians. Domestic animals are very welcome to play with our own two dogs Truus and Charlie!
