Today, fourteen little ducklings followed their mum on their very first walk through the vegetable garden.

Many fruits are picked before they're ripe so they can survive a long journey across Europe.

We leave the travelling to our guests, not to fruits and veggies.

Grown from seeds in their soil, they wait patiently. They are harvested when they are ready, transformed in our kitchen within hours and grown all natural, without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers.

Perhaps that's why they taste so different. And off course, because of all the love and attention they get.

Not because we've added anything.

Bu because we haven't.

It is strangely warm for May.
The spring cherries, hanging too high for us to pick, are bursting open under the blazing sun. The path towards the camping spots smells like my kitchen did a few days ago: a pot of cherry jam simmering on the stove while the cherry cake slowly bakes in the oven.

A few steps further, the elderflower is blooming, and the wind carries the scent of jasmine through our little paths and stone streets. It feels as if Mother Nature has opened her own pop up sweet shop

And it is busy in the shop today. I am not the only one visiting.
It hums and whistles and flutters, customers flying in and out all day long.

These days, the whole valley feels made of sugar, blossom and birdsong.

Year after year, La Fermette keeps evolving 🌿

Last year, we welcomed guests there for the very first time and focused on bringing warmth and character back into the interior.
This season, it was time for the outside to slowly transform too — with new colors, refreshed details and a softer atmosphere that feels even more like home.

Little by little, the house keeps growing with us, shaped by seasons, ideas and the life happening around it.

Summer is already almost fully booked for La Fermette with only a few remaining availabilities here and there.
But in June there are more possibilities to experience La Fermette in its newest version, surrounded by long evenings, garden dinners and the slow rhythm of the countryside ✨

A recap of the food we served last weekend.🌱

The garden announced a new season, and we couldn't agree more. Where attention goes, grows. The longer we are living here, the more we get to understand the rhythm and value of seasons and how to flow with them instead of trying to outsmart it.

I feel how my cooking evolves season after season, and how the garden and I are growing more and more intertwined. Last week it were aspagus, sorrel, leeks, spinach, herbs and endless green leaves and flowers in the colour of the rainbow in the main role, for breakfast and dinner.

Some weeks feel full, busy but most of all alive 🤍
Easter around the table with guests.
Hands deep in the soil — planting, harvesting, tending,
a quiet “yes” to each other 💍
a little escape in between, just the two of us and 🐕🐾,
and then… a surprise lamb, arriving in its own perfect timing 🐑
We hope you had the time to step outside too and sniff spring that is now really everywhere.
And notice everything that is growing and blooming around you.
We’re stepping into a new week, a little tired, very grateful…
and ready to spend most of it outdoors again 🌿✨

We quietly got married this weekend 🤍
No big announcement, no big party (yet)
The 2 of us, a few of our closest family, and the mayor of our tiny village. And by the evening… we were back in the kitchen, cooking for a fully booked Easter weekend with our guests.
Life as it is here — a little wild and chaotic from time to time. 😅
Next year marks 10 years of Rêve
and since yesterday also a wedding to celebrate!
Off course Rêve and our local 'chateau' will play the main role in May 2027. 🏰

9 years ago we bought a small village forgotten and left behind as ruins.
Three houses, a glamping dome, camperspots, a garden that feeds us & the guests and housing for the animals later...
We finally come to this piece of land in front of the house.
The one I’ve been dreaming about for years.
A dream, a plan,
and simply our hands to bring it to life.
These images are a glimpse of what’s to come,
scroll to the end to see where we stand today — just at the very beginning.
And slowly, step by step,
this too will become a reality to pause, to breathe, to enjoy in the upcoming months.
We can do this, again. 🙌🏼💪🏼
