I chose Gure Lana intentionally for my return to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, and it exceeded every expectation. Christian and Genevieve are the kind of hosts who make you feel like you're coming home—their warmth is genuine, not performed. The property itself is beautiful, a perfect mix of Basque charm and real comfort, with every detail cared for in a way that feels effortless. Before or After walking the Camino, or simply visiting the Basque region on a holiday, this is exactly the kind of place you want to land: peaceful, welcoming, and deeply rooted in this special town.
Honestly, nothing. The only downside is that you won't want to leave.

Dear Christian & Geneviéve
Hi there to you both. My husband Brian and I stayed with you on May 14th. It was perfect so thank you very much. We were advised by the office in village not to take the Napoleon route across the next day. Having chatted with you both we decided not to heed their advice. Im sure you heard about the very difficult conditions that arose that day. I will attach a photo to give you an idea what it was like. A lot of people suffered going across. We loved it and thankfully were there to help two other pilgrims who were really struggling to make it. I believe our decision was part of the Camino providing what was needed that day. Thank you. An excellent address with loving hosts. I spent the night here before tackling the Camino with my Gravelbike. Christian and Genevieve were super friendly and uncomplicated from the first moment (e.g. bike safely stowed in the garage). The room is very spacious, very clean and modern. Wifi worked, multi-plug was available, shower utensils and hair dryer also. The house is in the middle of nature - I could fall asleep to the twinkle of crickets. Since it was getting cold (May), was even heated at night. And in the morning I was welcomed with a comprehensive breakfast that left nothing to be desired. With other pilgrims at the table I had a great start to my Camino. Thank you!
