Having perfected their own particular Art de Vivre in the Alps with hotels such as Les Fermes de Marie in Megève, Altapura in Val Thorens or Cour des Loges in Lyon and on the exceptional destinations on the Mediterranean coast with Villa Marie Saint-Tropez or La Bastide de Marie in Provence, the Sibuet family has sought out new horizons and found a rare treasure: a charming property in the colonial style that dominates island and ocean alike in Saint Barth’s.
Overlooking the spectacular Flamands Beach, in the hills above Colombier, Villa Marie Saint-Barth is one of those destinations where the feeling of romance and quality of life are matched only by the beautiful setting of the unspoilt countryside...
Between white sandy beaches and rocks that plunge into waters spanning fifty shades of blue, it’s in these tropical surroundings that the second Villa Marie (following the first one in St Tropez) will make its luxurious new home. Feel at home with an ethnic and tropical decor, inspired by the Gypset trend, in a chic and playful Bohemian style.
French "Art de Vivre"
The West Indies architectural style is a lovely blend of intermingling influences: From Colonial plantation spirit with colorful ethnic Caribbean Indian flair to lasting British influence with a subtle dose of elegant French art de vivre. Seashells, pink corals, woods polished or bleached by the sun and caressed by the tropical winds mix with earthy decor elements, hand woven cordage and bamboo... Lush inviting outdoor living areas with clean lines, covered porches and no shortage of windows combine with the décor to offer an abundance of fresh, cheerful and understated sophistication.
Tropical Chic
With vintage rattan furniture pieces and bamboo egg chairs, surrounded by decor object either plucked from antique shops or custom made by craftsmen from all over the world, swaths of precious materials and colorful fabrics... these successive touches give the salons their pleasant and particular atmosphere. An invitation to take time, to settle down, seek peace and find fleeting moments of relaxation.
Gardens & Pool
In the heart of a vast and beautiful tropical garden, creating an intimate atmosphere, typical of the plantation style, the hotel easily invites moments of pure pleasure. The outdoor swimming pool, tucked in the gardens, provides cool refreshment among the explosion of colours of exotic flowers and plantlife. Surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden, under the shade of giant palm fronds and banana tree leaves, the pool feels like an oasis. Cacti, mango trees and flowering bougainvillea conspire to create an intoxicating and intimate atmosphere.
François Plantation Restaurant
Once upon a time, perched on the heights of Colombier, there was a small boutique hotel with a colonial spirit named "François Plantation" with a renowned restaurant considered an epicurean institution on the island. Today it is the label Maisons and Hôtel Sibuet which continues the history of this emblematic place under the new name of Villa Marie, while paying homage to its roots, in keeping the name of the restaurant François Plantation.
Gourmet Breakfast
Start your morning with a tropical chic breakfast poolside or in the gardens. Fresh fruit salads, homemade granola, heavenly rum-infused French toast or scrumptious banana pancakes are just a few of the options to get your day off to a sunny start.
Lunch
On the deckchairs in the shade of the palm trees, by the pool or in one of the alcoves of the garden, enjoy a refreshing break in the heart of the Villa Marie Saint-Barth plantation. A club sandwich with caribbean lobster medallion, grilled fish and colorful salads, the Francois Plantation restaurant will be your laidback lunch headquarters in St. Barth!
