After being purchased for a euro by the Association Jeanne Camille and spending 5 long years on the quayside in Cunault the Val de Vienne has finally completed its restoration and was launched today in Gennes. Bravo to all the team specifically Pierrot, Ben & Marie who have worked tirelessly to restore this historic Chaland. Donations and contributions have been gathered from the Association and Fondation de Patrimoine Pays de Loire allowing this great vessel to be preserved. 90k euros raised of the 100k target. We’ll donate a 1 euro for every like on the this post (up to 250 likes!!) as our message of Christmas cheer to help top up the funds.

Après avoir été acheté pour un euro par Association Jeanne Camille et avoir passé 5 longues années à quai à Cunault, le Val de Vienne a enfin terminé sa restauration et a été mis à l’eau aujourd’hui à Gennes. Bravo à toute l’équipe, en particulier Pierrot, Ben et Marie qui ont travaillé sans relâche pour restaurer ce Chaland historique. Des dons et des contributions ont été recueillis auprès de l’Association et de la Fondation de Patrimoine, permettant à ce grand navire d’être préservé. 90k euros ont été récoltés sur les 100k objectifs. Nous donnerons 1 euro pour chaque like sur le post ((jusqu’à 250 likes !!) comme notre message de joie de Noël pour aider à compléter les fonds.

A Memorable Stay
"We had what can only be called a memorable stay at La Grande Maison. This stunning house nestles besides a vineyard with stunning views. We were given a very warm welcome by Micaela, Sue, and their adorable dog called Badger and we instantly felt at home. Our evening began by being invited for aperos in the main house, followed by a delicious three course meal (each course enhanced with a different local wine), and topped off with the finest cheeses.

The rest of our stay consisted of a tailor made tour of the area which we couldn't have done without our hosts. We went for a tasting at a biodynamic vineyard, we ate far too much over a leisurely picnic (prepared by our hosts), took our own personal boat trip along the river, and if that wasn't enough, Micaela spoilt us by giving us a lift (there and back) to a restaurant in the evening. The next day we were able to use La Grande Maison bikes to cycle around the local villages which we enjoyed immensely.

The attention to detail from our hosts was very much appreciated, as was their care and attention towards us. We enjoyed the best time possible during our short stay and we can't wait to return next year." Maria - UK

Nos pensées vont à tous nos amis et à l’équipe de qui ont perdu leur restaurant, en pleine saison estivale, dans un incendie dévastateur la nuit dernière. Bon courage à tous ceux qui sont dans nos pensées.
