We write to inform you that, after 10 years at La Marmoire, Roger and I are hanging up our aprons and mops to retire from the bed and breakfast business. We hope to have more time now to explore parts of France to which we have not yet ventured.

We have had a wonderful experience at La Marmoire. We feel honoured to have called this beautiful house our home and to share our ‘little piece of heaven’ with all our guests.

We have met some exceptional people from all walks of life. We thank each and every one of you for choosing to stay with us and for making our experience at La Marmoire, a memorable one. We have made some very special friends along the way, with whom we will keep in contact and look forward to spending more precious times together.

Corinne and Laurent Bertholin are the new owners of La Marmoire and will continue to run the business. We wish them every success and hope they will be as happy at La Marmoire as we have been.

Lockdown antics!....

So, during lockdown we have had a weekly challenge between ourselves and Roger's brother and sister in law.

When Timmy Mallett came to stay....

In the spring of 2018 Timmy Mallett undertook to cycle 2,500 miles from his home to Santiago de Compostela in memory of his brother Martin, who was born with Down's syndrome and had died just a few days earlier.

Timmy wrote an account of his pilgrimage, weaving together history and his biography.

We were priviledged to have him to stay with us during his pilgrimage and are very proud to appear in his book.
