Got a cheeky sneak peak of the new stairs today :-) The Fuzzy Guy needs to move all the support mechanism so he can start on the stair well - plaster boarding and painting.

Small amount of rain today - much needed :-)

Still available dates for June, July & August. Our gites are wonderfully presented, spacious and well equipped. We are a hop from an organic bakery and a skip from
several supermarkets, and many, many other facilities and attractions, but we are wrapped in a blanket of calm providing an option for whatever holiday you desire :-) :-)
There are country walks or cycle routes on our doorstep, restaurants, water parks, vineyards and many historic sites and beautiful towns and cities to visit.

Thought temp was dropping tomorrow ... but evidently not!!!
Bit the bullet today to mow - done now :-)

First lot of jam done ... today ran away with us so not sure if we will get more cherries as the birds are constantly in there!!

As for the mirabelles, every tree and we have more than half a dozen of them, is dripping with fruit. Not ready yet but we will be overrun with fruit!!! Not a bad problem to have :-)

Its quite hot!!! Arrived back into Bordeaux last night about 20:00 and it was 33 degrees!!! Hot for next few days so will be picking up some 'inside' jobs!
Had spent the morning in London (which was also hot!!) and saw my first driverless car!!!!

Got invited to a event this afternoon run by the area Tourist Office to show us the new aerial parcour courses down the road from us ... and the paintball or gel ball and new paddle courts, along with the wakeboard and paddle centre which we also knew about. A little bit of a challenge linguistically but nice to see them adding more opportunities for guests and locals alike. :-) :-)

Still plenty of options for a cheeky French getaway .... in or out of school term time :-)

In sunny Portsmouth for a long weekend. Have left The Fuzzy Guy back at base, literally melting - he is due to have temps of 37 degrees today!!! Flying back tomorrow to a week of the same - think I better get some shorts out! No guests in at mo so we could just wallow in the pool :-) :-)

Finished off the washing from the last two lots of guests - just in time to have more washing tomorrow when the next lot of guests leave. The weather has not been good enough to get it out on the line ..... but everything is changing!!!!

Look at our next couple of weeks ..... :-) .......got some free time .... pack your bikini/shorts and your flip flops and jump on the flight .......lets go .... hello sunshine :-) :-)

Two more sets of guests in for our 3rd bank holiday weekend this month!!!! A little strange as one of them only booked yesterday!! Had just put the iron away and then got the booking for today and a booking for Monday..... so it is back out again!! :-)

Both sets of guests left this morning - one lot heading for Normandy and one for Paris. In actual fact they were both here for the same local birthday party!! They didn't know each other as from opposite sides of the family :-)

Nearly mid-May so it's pool opening time. Always interesting but with the water pumped off the top cover and the cover removed it looks alright!! :-) Long way to go but a great starting point :-)

More guests due in Thursday so back at the washing and ironing :-)

P.S. Turns out the bad photography in the last instance may have been just down to sticky fingers on the lens ..... oops - what a waste of effort hahaha :-)

Madness , complete madness I tell you!!!

Looking for flights for myself this morning ...... and look ..... a trip from Luton to Bordeaux and back again is just a smidge over £30!!!!!! With our very sensibly priced and beautiful gites that is a weeks holiday in the amazing south west of France for next to nothing .... c'mon this is an absolute bargain :-) :-)
