My family and I were incredibly impressed by the accessibility features of this holiday rental home in Sourdeval, Normandy. I have been paralysed for nearly 12 years and this is by far the best home from home we could have hoped for. There is level access throughout, a fully accessible kitchen, en-suite wet room with premium shower chair available upon request. The track hoist above the double profiling bed was a true god send. Our teenage son really enjoyed his stay in one of the quirky basement rooms and was highly impressed with the large bath in the basement en suite. Local amenities are great; lots of bars, cafes and shops that are accessible and the community spirit in the town is truly refreshing. Would highly recommend this well kept holiday let to those with disabilities and without. A massive thank you to the owner for catering to our every need.

You still have time to see The Standing with Giants installation

For the third summer running this inspiring and emotional installation has stood proud in the grounds of The British Memorial at Ver sur Mer, above Gold Beach. Life-sized silhouettes representing each of the British soldiers who died on D-Day as well as other personnel closely involved in the day have stood proudly there since April, reminding us of the sacrifice they paid for our freedom.

The Giants will be in place until Sat 19th September so you still have time to see them before they head back to England for the winter.

The main weekly market in Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët is held on Wednesday mornings roughly from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the Place Delaporte and surrounding streets.
A bustling market featured in the Chanel 4 programme Homes in the Sun, well worth a visit. Only 40 minutes or so from The Courtyard Garden, Formerly We Care Home and Away in Normandy sleeping up to six on two levels.

The Courtyard Garden in Normandy 50150 sleeping up to six people on two levels is situated in a quaint town within easy walking distance of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Perfect location for visiting the region with a traditional weekly market.
Ideal for families, with a large swimming pool and bowling alley a short drive away as well as The Lac Dathée where you can hire pedalos or picnic for the day.
30 minutes away the zoo is a lovely day out with lots of exotic animals.
For anyone interested in WWII you can drive to all the major sites or visit The Mont st Michel only 45 minutes away.
