Interesting conditions at Bounty currently. Obviously off the back of FIVE exceptionally hot and long heat spikes running almost continuously since late May, we inevitably have a low water problem again this season. B2 particularly, and B3 is too shallow to fish. However, we have been keeping constant vigilance and aerating the lakes. B1 fishing is steady, but B2 is fishing its socks off!!! But, be prepared for low water and to get in to net and release fish. Having plotted B1 depth we’ve verified what we long believed that it’s a slightly deeper pond. So, I’ve taken the decision to start pumping water from B1 to maintain or increase the water level in B2/3. Our new LPG 4” pump is shifting 1800 cubes of water a day, that’s about 4inches, a day from B1 and adding about 2 inches a day across B2/3. We will look to maintain B2/3 water levels to the end of the season, even if we need to take B1 offline. Hopefully the weather bomb subsides soon! If the carp in B1 show any signs of stress, we’ll move the bigger 30+ fish to B2. Similarly, we’d prefer to move smaller carp from B2 to B1.
