I have made this site private but just in case anyone comes across it we sold LBM in Feb 2025, we were extremely sad to leave it but it was time to hand it over to a younger couple to carry on the guardianship. They are Toine and Nina (Belgian couple who speak perfect English and French), they advertise the gite on Airbnb etc so just search for La Bonne Marie and it will pop up. In the mean time we moved back to the UK.

If anyone is looking for a last minute getaway we are looking after a friends house just 5 mins from us and it is available in August, it does have a pool, sleeps 5.

I have had time to play about in the gite so I have changed the layout a little, the lounge is now the full width of the cottage, which means the sofa is centered in front of the fire and the chairs are off to the side away from the fire, good in winter when the fire is alight. The dining room has moved to being in line with the kitchen. We have a longer table coming so there will be ample space for 3 chairs either side of the table - that way you can avoid the beam!! Also the plates, mugs, etc are now in a new cupboard. David was thrilled especially as the cupboard needed a new shelf and a drawer added, he did a great job and I think he agrees it works - hope you think so too.

Our Story

The cottage comfortably sleeps 4-5 people but can accommodate 6 people (there is an extra single bed in the hallway which is usually a day bed). Fully equipped for a relaxing holiday, please see our web site for more details; www.labonnemarie.co.uk.

We have tried to make this a home from home so there is Wifi, English and French TV, CD player, games for the kids, books so that you can exchange the one you have just finished. Comfy sofa and chairs to relax in, comfy beds to sleep in. Everything should be there but if you need something just ask us.

The garden is secure so that kids and dogs can run free and there is parking for 4+ cars. The whole site is fenced and the large wooden entry gates make sure it is secure. Motor bikes are very welcome and we can provide a covered area for parking your bikes and washing facilities if you are keen to keep your pride and joy clean.

The swimming pool is provided so that you can cool off on a hot sunny day, it is for the exclusive use of the guests. It is 5.5m in diameter, above ground and heated by the sun and the help of a solar cover, it regularly gets to 24 + degrees in the summer. The whole pool area is fenced and we can provide a padlock for the gate if you want to make sure little people can not get access when you are not looking however there is also a security ladder. We provide floating toys and props so you can have fun in the water.
