Please be aware of, and block your email communication with a scammer trying to reserve accommodation in the Charente area:

His email correspondence with me was:

Hello,
I need to make a reservation at your place for 2 persons coming for vacation from the United Kingdom from 12th December till 16th December 2026 ( 4 nights ).
I need to know the cost per night and the sum total for that period so we can arrange for payment. If you do not have availability for that period, Kindly let me know when you will have availability for 2 adults.

I await your quick response.

After giving him our availability he came back with this known scam:

Thanks for your offer. I have just concluded arrangements with the guests for the trip to your place for that period. However, A Certified Bank Cheque for £1,180 was issued by the company to cover the cost of the vacation.

I have been instructed to send you the cheque since the sponsors prefer the name of the accommodation provider on the cheque. You will deduct the cost of accommodation and keep the balance of the money for the guests.
Kindly provide the information below to send you the cheque.

1, YOUR FULL NAME (AS IT SHOULD APPEAR ON THE CHEQUE)
2, YOUR ADDRESS / POSTCODE and
3, YOUR PHONE NUMBER.

Do you have any car hire arrangements? I await the required information so the cheque can be posted to you immediately.

🇬🇧Sometimes your presence needs to be announced, so we have a new bell for the house!

More than just a beautiful addition, it feels like the start of a new chapter, a new sound, and another little piece of the house’s story. Can’t wait to hear it ring, as we know it will signal the welcome of friends through the door.
🇫🇷Parfois, votre présence doit être annoncée, nous avons donc une nouvelle cloche pour la maison !

Plus qu’un simple bel ajout, cela ressemble au début d’un nouveau chapitre, d’un nouveau son et d’un autre petit morceau de l’histoire de la maison. J’ai hâte de l’entendre sonner, car nous savons qu’il signalera l’accueil des amis à travers la porte.

🇬🇧After our dog walk today, we had to stop off at Le Réveil Tussonnais for a refreshing drink. Perrier for Phil and I and Evian for Gino. Only kidding it was tap water 🐾😆

🇬🇧Less than 2 minutes walk from us at Maison Dix Tusson, what’s your favourite thing about our little bar in the village? The warm welcome from the master of the house, Charles? Le Réveil Tussonnais is more than just a place to enjoy a nice glass of w**e, or a refreshing b**r on a hot summer’s day. It’s where stories start, where friendships are made and where “just one drink” becomes three.
🇫🇷À moins de 2 minutes à pied de chez nous à la Maison Dix Tusson, qu’est-ce que vous préférez dans notre petit bar du village ? L’accueil chaleureux du maître de la maison, Charles ? est plus qu’un simple endroit pour déguster un bon verre de vin, ou une bière rafraîchissante par une chaude journée d’été. C’est là que les histoires commencent, où les amitiés sont nouées et où « un seul verre » devient trois.

🇬🇧I won’t lie and say that moving to France has not caused a few sleepless nights. Thankfully they’ve not been anything to do with caffeinated tea. After 5pm we only drink decaffeinated tea. It’s so difficult to get here, so if you’re visiting from the UK, It’s always a welcome gift at Maison Dix Tusson.
🇫🇷Je ne vais pas mentir et dire que déménager en France n’a pas causé quelques nuits blanches. Heureusement, ils n’ont rien à voir avec le thé à la caféine. Après 17 heures, nous ne buvons que du thé décaféiné. C’est tellement difficile de s’y rendre, donc si vous êtes en visite depuis le Royaume-Uni, c’est toujours un cadeau de bienvenue à la Maison Dix Tusson.
