The owners used traditional and period materials in order to restore the historical character wherever possible. Much attention was given to the kitchen and bathrooms where you will experience all the modern comforts that would be expected in a property of this calibre. The views from the home are superb with every window opening to the old market place; there is even a small terrace where you can admire the sun setting over the medieval city and the ruins of the old castle whilst you enjoy a glass of wine from one of the local vineyards. The home itself is four storeys, including the renovated attic, and the steps within the home date back to Roman times. The ground floor includes a spacious room with a convertible sofa, an XVIIIth century fireplace, TV, library and a bathroom. On the first floor you can enjoy a bright living room that can easily sit eight people around a large maple table. Within the living room there is also another XVIIIth century fireplace, TV, music system and a WIFI connection as well as an additional convertible leather sofa. Adjoining the living room is a fully equipped kitchen (including all modern amenities such as dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge and freezer) – the owners have made sure there is a bottle opener there for you as well! The second floor of the property accommodates two bedrooms; one bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has twin beds, which can be joined to make a king size bed. The second floor also has the completely remodelled bathroom with modern walk in shower, two sinks and a combo washing machine / dryer. Finally, discover the third floor where the old attic has been converted into a cosy nest space equipped with a futon and importantly it is from here that you can access the sunny terrace and admire the views of the medieval surroundings.
