The warm spring sunshine has arrived in the Loire Valley. Cherry blossom is abundant and the tulips are flowering.

This is a wonderful time to take a well earned break at Les Peupliers Loire. The local châteaux — Brézé, Fontevraud, Ussé — are beautiful at this time of year. And the famous Loire light that reflects off the Tuffeau stone — the stone of light — is at its softest and most beautiful.

Spring is one of our favourite times of year here. The mornings are fresh and quiet — perfect for setting off on an e-bike through the vineyards before the day warms up, or simply unwinding with a massage as the morning unfolds. The afternoons are made for sitting in the garden with a glass of something local. And the evenings take on a magic of their own as the sun sinks slowly over the surrounding fields.
