Bayeux Cathedral Illuminations 2025

From July 8th to August 30th the outside of Bayeux Cathedral will be lit up with a light show celebrating the artist Alain Thomas. His work plunges the you into rich landscapes, where nature blossoms in an explosion of shapes and colours.

The show will launch on 8 July, for two consecutive evenings, in celebration of the start of the Tour de France in Bayeux. It will then take place every Tues, Thurs and Sat at nightfall. It is free and no reservation is required.

Shutters painted, lawns mowed and edges strimmed, terrain de boules and flower beds weeded, swimming pond plants pruned and tidied, Gites decorated and spring cleaned, plus loads of other maintenance jobs done. I think I’m ready for another busy season. I still have some limited summer availability so check out the website.

So I did it!! The end of a crazy, busy, fully booked summer season has arrived and the bookings are now weekends only for the rest of the year, with some much needed peace for me midweek.
The last summer guests treated me to a fabulous barbecue (thank you so much Lucas and Andries) and the lovely Linda made her signature pavlova. Spectacular! I only just noticed Linda and I inadvertently wore matching tops 😂 very French!
I also wanted to share just one of the fabulous reviews from this summer because it was so lovely and genuinely made me cry.
I’m pooped! And now to sleep - a lot!
PS Half of August 2025 is already booked in The Old Stable gite so get in quick if you’re coming next year 🥰🥰
