Summer holidays are over and people are back to work. The next holiday is the autumn break.

Une belle histoire!

Once upon a time.....
There was Arthur Teisseire, an architect, who designed in 1936 his dream house in the south of France. Coming from the south himself he was living and working at that time as an architect in Paris.
His dream house, he called 'Au Souleu', which is provencal for Au Soleil.... Under the sun!

And you know what? Now, 90 years later, we his grandson and family are enjoying his beautiful piece of art. As you can really call the house like that.

Since we are not there all the time we are so happy that also others can enjoy his house in this beautiful part of the south of France.

Would you like to enjoy as well a week, or two, in Vence? You are more than welcome.
There is space for 12 people, in 6 bedrooms.

What a hot summer it was. From tomorrow the temperatures will go down a bit.
Luckily we have a refreshing pool.

Winter is not there yet, but will be on its way.

Next to central heating we do have a cozy wood burner stove .

And with the grand piano 🎹 you can have pleasant evenings around the fireplace.

Last Christmas….. we were for the last time enjoying Au Souleu in Vence and it’s surroundings.

Now other people may call Au Souleu home for a while.

However we look forward to the summer so we can be again the French family we are, in the south of France.

You can do the same. Feel home at the Côte d’Azur in our beautiful Au Souleu.
Walk to the medieval town, go the boulangerie for the best croissants and French bread.
Enjoy on a terras a good wine and see local life passing by.

Or go the sea side. Visit cities like Nice, Cannes and Antibes.

And the best, we think, go into the mountains and enjoy stunning views, see the coastline and on a clear day you can even see Corsica.

Enough to do, or not, when you stay in Vence.

Au Souleu, has 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms. A big garden with a real petanque, trampoline and a nice small stylish plunge pool.

How special to have this piece of history. Here are the building details of Au Souleu.

In 1936 Arthur Teisseire designed and built the beautiful family home.
We are proud to take care of this precious family heritage. And.... we do enjoy it to share it with others.

So do come with your family and/or friends and enjoy the Cote d'Azur and have our family home as your base.

A family home for families

In Au Souleu we receive often 3-generation families.
Grandparents with children and grandchildren, who like to spend the holidays together. And they always feel home.
Why?
Well, the main reason is that Au Souleu is a real family house. It's a family heritage.

Arthur Teisseire designed and built in 1936 Au Souleu in Vence to live together with his wife Marie-Antoinette and his children Henri and Claudette.
When Henri started his own family and lived elsewhere in Vence, Claudette stayed in Au Souleu with her parents, she stayed when both Arthur and Marie-Antoinette passed away.

It was to us, Vincent and Hanneke, the third generation, to renovate Au Souleu in 2013 when Claudette also passed away. We, the new generation took over.
What an honor it was to bring back life into this beautiful house. And what a joy it is to let other families come and enjoy this spacious and comfortable house in the center of Vence.

We renovated, for 4 years, Au Souleu with many pieces from the past so you can see and feel the family history.
Recently we have also added some nice furniture from the now, Dutch side of this Teisseire family. The beautiful grand piano from father Will and beautiful arm chair coming from our grandmother.

We look do forward to the future but are happy that our family stories stay alive in this house.
