La Cour, 2 Route de La Magdeleine, Villefagnan (2026)

We bought this property in 2014 and have renovated two houses around a courtyard to make two B&B rooms with shower rooms en suite. La Cour is a typical Charentaise village house, sympathetically renovated with a modern twist and we pride ourselves on our ability to make your stay a happy one. Between us we have (far too) many years experience in service industries. Jane's background was in hotels

in the UK and within Customer Service environments and more recently a tea garden in rural Somerset. We are situated in the village of Villefagnan. Once the main route from Paris to Spain the village is situated 10 Kms from Ruffec and the N10. Villefagnan is a typical Charente village with a bar, an auberge, bank, post office, clothes shop, tea shop and corner store. A perfect spot to explore the area or to stop over on your way down to the South of France. The Charente has the second highest number of days sunshine after the Mediterranean which is one of the things that attracted us in the first place. This is a great region for cyclists too and we have two national routes that pass the gates. Our breakfast is fruit juice, croissants and chocolatines (pain au chocolats) with butter and jam and a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. In the nicer weather you can take this outside in our courtyard or garden. We will do everything we can to ensure you have an excellent stay and if there is anything we can do to help just let us know and we will do our utmost to oblige. I had the great pleasure of welcoming Marie José to La Cour yesterday. At the age of seventy six she is walking 10,000 kilometres to raise money for disabled children. She rests for one day a month and started her journey in Saint Nazarena in 15 March. She is a true inspiration! J'ai eu le grand plaisir d'accueillir hier Marie José à La Cour. A soixante-seize ans, elle parcourt 10 000 kilomètres à pied au profit de l'enfance handicapée.
