Bike Camping France would like to wish all friends and clients a very happy and healthy 2026!
We thank all of you that chose to stay with us during the season; both new faces and familiar faces, and leave you with these photos of one of our more unusual visitors from 2025.

Bike Camping France first had the pleasure of meeting Jan from Amsterdam back in 2018 and it is always a surprise for us when clients return.
Professional musician Jan who plays both piano and guitar, was not your usual standard camper and a person that would still come up in conversation from time to time.
As he had done in 2018, he again brought his piano with him and it was our pleasure to hear him play his wonderful music.
Here is a link to his website.

Every year is different at Bike Camping France, whether it is the weather pattern, the frequentation of clients, which country they are from, are they visiting the area for a specific reason or just passing through; it is always a surprise.
Bernd and his wife Nortje from Germany no longer go on camping trips with their children and prefer to stay at smaller and quieter campsites.
We thank them for choosing us and it was our pleasure to meet them both and to be able to share with you the beautiful photographs that Bernd has taken here at 'La Haille'.

Meet Gert and Leon, both born in South Africa and who lived 500 m from each other and have remained firm friends since the age of 4.
Fast forward a few years; Gert has been living in Jersey for the last 30 years and Leon has been living in Australia.
However, regardless of the distance, these friends make an effort to catch up and spend quality time together; the last time was in 2009 for the British and Irish Lions tour in South Africa.
This year Bike Camping France had the pleasure of being their meeting point for their Pyrénées adventure together.
Two Honda CRF300L motorbikes, 6 days and 1,400 km of track riding in France, Andorra, Spain; lots of smiles, laughing and fun!
It was a pleasure to have spent some time with Gert and Leon but now they go their separate ways . . . until the next time!

A fine specimen of a male Lucanus Cervus, the largest European beetle, the Stag Beetle, or in French “Le Lucane Cerf Volant” residing here at Bike Camping France.
This beetle is a symbol of thunder and lightning, associated with Thor, the God of thunder; they do not damage living wood or timber they only feed on decaying wood and their numbers are on the decline.

Can't think of a better way to open our camping than with an overnight visit from 14 tandem riders and 2 recumbent riders!
Unfortunately the weather has been and still is very wet, but this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the visiting group from the "Tandem Club de France" to tackle more than 500 km of cycling.
For those of you who are interested to read about their "Tour du Gers à Tandem", here is the link.

Finally, Bike Camping France are able to share with you one of our major completed ecological projects for 2024.
Introducing “Vélo Volt” . . . a completely self-contained off-grid solar powered shed customised for bicycles.
“Vélo Volt” offers the cyclist a dry and secure place for parking their bicycle along with a work bench for small repairs; that is the “Velo” part.
The “Volt” part is the capability to charge your electric bike battery and all your bicycle ancillary devices such as a GPS, bicycle lights etc., using green energy.
“Vélo Volt” is also equipped with solar battery storage, maximising the power from the solar panels which can act as a temporary source of electricity during a power outage.
Lastly and importantly, “Vélo Volt” is helping to reduce our carbon footprint with its renewable solar energy capabilities!

Bike Camping France had the pleasure of accommodating Gregory from Switzerland. Gregory left the camping at the crack of dawn so we were not able to say 'goodbye' in person but he left us this lovely note.
Our clients often say that they will be back; some have, some have not, however it is always a pleasure to see people again.
That was a recent case for us with Judy and Steve from Jersey who we last saw here in 2017.
Thank you for coming back to stay with us and it was lovely to catch up with you both and meet Tiki!

What a start to our season; now Bike Camping France has had the first Irish touring cyclists!
Declan from Donegal and his son Connor stopped off for one night from Tarbes on their way to Toulouse where they will go their separate ways as Connor heads for Marseille continuing on to the Greek islands.
"May the wind always be at your back" and we hope to see you again some time.

Our second ever Italian touring cyclist Paolo from Milan, enjoyed our facilities so much he stayed for three nights!
Having travelled extensively and thankfully for us speaking English, he is touring France having cycled from Milan, Barcelona and through the Pyrénées and is now heading towards Bordeaux then on to the North coast returning to Milan.
His passion for cycling comes from his Father and they will both be riding the TOUR Transalp on the 20th June.
Paolo È stato un vero piacere aver trascorso un po' di tempo con te. Grazie per essere stato con noi.
