Brethren, date for your diaries.

On Saturday 23rd May, Sons of The Soil No. 1451 have arranged a Scottish Night In Freemasons Hall, Crown Street, Aberdeen. Doors Open at 1900. Entertainment provided by "Reel Energy" will commence at 1945. There will also be a short quiz, £1 shuffle coin game, and raffle during the break. This will be a ticket only event and details are in the attached Flyer.

PM Rettie will also be issuing an email to lodge secretaries inside and outside of the province to publicise the event. Payment is £17.50 per ticket.

As we will be in closed season, this event is part of a series of events being undertaken during the summer through our lodge as well as other events which we know are being organised through other lodges and orders.

Please join our RWM Ian Wood, the Brethren of Sons of The Soil, partners & wives, and distinguished guests for a fun and harmonious night with dancing, games, and a fine harmony.

Brethren, On behalf of our RWM, Office Bearers, and Brethren of Sons of the Soil No. 1451, we are advising that for our next regular meeting on Wednesday 4th of March 2026, will be solely for members only on this occasion. We respectfully request that this regular meeting is attended only by Lodge Members so that we may discuss lodge business. Whilst this is not in keeping with our usual warm invite to visit our beloved lodge, we assure our visitors near and far that although this is essential on this occasion, that normal business will ensue for our next regular meeting whereby we will advertise in the usual manner. Morning Brethren, after a discussion with the RWM and the senior office bearers it has been decided to cancel the 1st degree on Wednesday 7th January due to the adverse weather.

The candidate is also snowed in currently as he stays out in Daviot.

The meeting will now be rescheduled for Wednesday 21st January Prompt where we will be working a 1st degree for one gentlemen. There will also be a Visitation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Aberdeen City.

If there is a serious improvement with the weather by Wednesday 7th, we will work a practice degree where you will be updated prior.

The RWM and Brethren wish you all well at the start of this snowy new year and hope it clears soon so we can resume our meetings.

Brethren, this Wednesday, April 16th Tyle at 1930 sharp, we will work a 2nd degree for brother Bob Miazek. This will be our last official meeting of the season, excluding our 75th rededication on May 3rd. Would be nice to see some brethren on the side benches if if fits with your schedule and if you can, you will be made most welcome. The usual harmony and raffle will take place after the worm has concluded.

A great day was had by all at the Reigning Masters Degree for the province of Aberdeen City, hosted by Lodge Neptune 375 where we witnessed a fantastic 3rd degree worked for our candidate and newest Master Mason of Lodge Sons Of The Soil No 1451 Brother Bruce Clarke. Thanks to Lodge Neptune 375 for hosting the day, all the lodges in the province for playing their part in making the day so memorable for Bruce, and to all the 13 brethren from 1451 that attended.

Date for your diaries Brethren.

On Saturday May 3rd, Lodge Sons of The Soil 1451 will be 75 years young and it will be our re-dedication ceremony which is set to be a memorable day for our lodge, and for those brethren who will be conducting, or, taking part in the ceremony. It would be great to see as many visiting brethren as possible for this auspicious occasion and in typical form, we will be having our usual harmony and raffle. Tyle time 2pm prompt and if there are any amendments to that time, we will update here if applicable.
