Life’s not all about work and this week has been all about family R&R.
The aim of our business has always been to stay relatively small, never to take over the world and get rich quick. Steady away is my motto.
Work to live.
And anyone selling the dream of making fortunes from little/no hard work whilst sitting on a beach sipping a cocktail is an utter conman to me.
So as a small hands on family business owner we keep things ticking over; enquiries, guest comms, etc.
And when a fellow established Aberdeen business owner contacted us about running his multi apartment building as serviced accommodation we respond.
We take time out to have a short chat.
Things went well and we will follow this up with a F2F chat once back in Aberdeen
Whether anything comes of this or not is immaterial to us.
Because the main thing we take from this contact is recognition that our 5 years hard work building up our business organically (all our owners have approached us) from one rental to 13 with 10 different owners in 2 places 250 miles apart.

All of our places have room thermostats which are 100% controlled by our great guests but also where we can turn on remotely to make sure the place is cosy for arrival not freezing cold!
No matter how high the energy companies put their prices up we allow our guests to control how warm they want to be.
We do ask them to be sensible with room temperatures for the sake of the environment and our bills but would never resort to thermostats which turn off after an hour or two like many operators do.
We’ve been busy again at some of our Aberdeen city centre apartments on Claremont Street where we have ground, first and second floor places.
The bathroom floor tiles the landlord had put down before we took it over was starting to show it’s age so selected a great match to the wall panels and upgraded our apartment downstairs at the same time.
Thanks to my friend who shall not be mentioned for his help (ie doing it!) with the fitting.
We are almost fully booked apart from one of our places next week but have been approached by a potential new landlord about running their apartment on Kepplestone which we will keep you updated with if there is and progress.

It’s EICR renewal day at our 5 bedroom self catering house on Airyhall Drive and it passed with flying colours!
That’s a mandatory electrical check all landlords are responsible for. 🤝
We select approved contractors and take landlord hassles away and give them a guaranteed long term no voids rent.
We also met one of our lovely neighbours who was keen to help with the gardening!
We might have lost an hour with the clocks ⏰ going forward but finally got round to sorting our SPARE bedding, linen and cleaning supplies in a very productive morning.
We have been almost fully booked for a few months with longer term bookings.
So we’ve been very busy with maintaining and making sure they are sparking as well as improving them with new boilers, room thermostat systems etc.
Great to know our places are all in tip top condition for our current and future guests!

We're excited! 😍
This is the front lounge and kitchen/lounge diner in our amazing Aberdeen 4 bedroom house.
And today, we're doing the same as what we did in one of our Dwellcome Home South Tyneside properties last week and making the front lounge into the 5th bedroom.
Once done can take more/better bookings of slightly larger family groups and 5 contractors.
It has a massive kitchen/dining lounge, which we will reconfigure to increase the lounge seating so think it will work well.

Our bespoke portfolio of carefully selected 2, 3 & 4 bedroomed properties have been meticulously renovated and are immaculately maintained to ensure that they meet our high standards so are perfect for our amazing guests, who have been staying with us since 2015. Our beautiful homes are a mixture of apartments and houses and are ideal for both short (usually 2 nights minimum but please enquire as we would welcome the right type of guest for 1 nights (not party people!)) and extended stays, sleeping from 1 to 12 persons.
Being super clean, really well equipped, with nice homely touches (I stay regularly at all of our places to verify that things are right!) and in great locations you can be assured that if you book with us you will have all of the comforts of home and somewhere nice to prepare dinner, bathe, and kick back maybe with a glass of wine and relax at the end of a long day with nothing to worry about. Why should you have to settle for anything less than what you have at your own home?
Our properties are children friendly as well as ideal for the majority of our guests who are working away from home! For family bookings we can supply a travel cot, a high chair, etc.
Latterly, we have started securing more and more direct bookings, mainly from corporate and contractor guests who book for a single short stay and are so delighted with our service that they end up booking directly with us for several months (e.g. see below). This is testament to constantly meeting our high standards.
