Room with A View, Seafood Restaurant situated within the Forth View Hotel in the coastal village Aberdour, Fife. l Classical Guitar player Nick Rees on the sound system (who also plays live on occasion). Every seat offers a view of Edinburgh or Aberdour Harbour or climbers on the Hawkcraig Cliffs. On a sunny day it is nice to enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the garden area or eat Al fresco!

I announce the passing of our beloved Mum, Pauleen, affectionately known as "Her Majesty" of Room with a View. She was the heart and soul of our establishment and the reason it all began. Her unwavering support for Room with a View has left an indelible mark on us all.

Many of you will fondly remember her as the dedicated driver, ensuring customers were transported to and from the restaurant, or anywhere in the Village. Her warmth and kindness were felt by everyone who crossed her path.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to my incredible staff, who went above and beyond to care for her during her final days. From offering cups of tea to preparing meals, their compassion and dedication were truly remarkable. A special thank you to Kyle, who consistently went the extra mile to meet her needs. Mum's final meal request was for Chef Jason’s fish and potatoes, a testament to her discerning taste and the joy she found in good food.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us through this difficult time. We will miss our Mum dearly, but her spirit will always be a part of Room with a View.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of Room with a View restaurant, effective as of the 28th of September 2024. After 18 wonderful years, this decision has not come lightly, the business has been a significant part of my life and a cherished establishment for many in our community.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all of our staff members, both past and present. Your hard work, dedication, and passion have made Room with a View a place of joy and celebration, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together.

Unfortunately, the current economic climate has posed numerous challenges for the hospitality industry, and we have faced many financial constraints that have made it increasingly difficult to operate. Additionally, my personal circumstances have led me to prioritise family at this time. As I care for my elderly disabled mother and my 10-year-old triplets, I realise that it is essential to focus on family and cherish the precious time we have together.

To all of our loyal customers, thank you for your support and patronage throughout the years. We have had the privilege of serving countless loyal customers; you have made our restaurant a vibrant part of this community. We will carry fond memories of the laughter, celebrations, and special moments shared within our walls.

This closure marks the end of an era, but I remain hopeful for the future. Thank you once again for everything.
