Bye bye boys…The piggies left us a couple of weeks ago to go back to the farm for some fresh grass. What a beautiful experience it was with them, so many memories for us and the kids and what an incredible job they have done cultivating our bottom field.
We unfortunately found some Himalayan Balsam in there and wanted to stop it spreading further. It’s a tricky bit of land that had wind blown willow and is super steep. Last year we had the willow felled and then Colin and Flora suggested we take the pigs to do the rest. They have not only done the job and have avoided the use of machinery but have also given us so much joy. The last 2 photos show the difference in the land after the pigs have cleared it.
It’s been a privilege caring for these creatures for a while at least 🐷

Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy 2026. We’ve had a magical festive period with family and friends and enjoyed hosting lovely guests. We are blown away yet again by everyone’s support this past year. All our lovely guests (many of whom return time after time ❤️), our fantastic cleaner Katy (we couldn’t do it without you) and all the fabulous trades people we use locally (sometimes things go wrong but we know we can rely on theses guys to get us sorted). We’re looking forward to more of the same for 2026 🎉

Since we opened the Snug we have been overwhelmed with our guests response. We were hopeful people would love it but it’s always a bit nerve wracking trying something different! Late to the party but the whole family at Croftness wish everyone a very happy 2025 and thank you all again for your support throughout 2024.
