Completely off-grid woodland, opposite to the Skirrid, with the Blorenge to the West. Our woodland is comprised of deadwood Habitat, which means no foraging for firewood, please. But we sell seasoned firewood, kindling, and delicious charcoal for your barbie! Come and pitch next to the murmuring stream, where you can fill your kettle and shower if you have one. Completely off-grid, our established

woodland is full of life and atmosphere. Prepare for stunning sunsets and mild evenings, until the easterly picks up! Our woodland is located opposite the Skirrid car park. Price per night: £10 per person, kids under 5 are free, -please pre-pay to secure your pitch in advance

Trained dogs on a lead allowed, unfortunately, we have livestock further into, and surrounding the wood, so no free running

FINALLY, some SUN and WARMTH🌞🌸 and Crowfield Woodland Camping is full of life! The birds have changed to their spring tunes, the blossom on the Wild Cherry, Black Thorn, and Hawthorn, filling the woodland with the most amazing sights and smells.

Legend has it, that the period from May 13th to June 9th is represented by Hawthorn—or huath as it was called in old Irish. This time of year, also known as the Hawthorn moon,🌔 is associated with fertility and the rising of light, as we move into the BEST part about being outdoors. Warm, long bright nights, delicious foraging, great sights and smells, and well, the need to lugg around less kit!🏕

We have spaces available and charcoal made, ready for your evening burn. 🔥We can point you in the direction of the best local butchers! 🥩🥓

We have pitches available for both bivvy and tents, DM or WhatsApp for more info!

🐁🌲 We had the fantastic Might Be Lost ladies come and wild camp with us and all the woodland creatures here at Crowfield Woodland Camping,a few weekends back, what a bunch of legends!

We love the energy, skill, and just all round good vibes that everyone bought despite the chilly winds and little bits of drizzle 🪵🐾🦡

Cant wait to see you all again soon!

The bright mornings and promise of warmer weather have the trees, the birds, and the bees humming with excitement! 🦋🐦🐝

It feels like SPRING is just around the corner 🦋🐛🌞

Here at Crowfield Woodland Camping, we are so excited for the new life spring brings.

We can't wait for the new Nettle leaves, the tender Fiddlehead Ferns, mealy Plantain, and of course everyones favourite, Wild Garlic to break the ground, spring to life and reveal their delicious shoots! 🌱🧄

As our woodland is managed by our hard working, silly, adorable, stinky pigs 🐖 the flora that pops up changes each year. The pigs (Kunekune) and their small delicate mouths, snuffle through the dirt and leave the lower levels of our woodlands seedbanks well alone. Subsequently, last year we had a wild flower ERUPTION, with never before seen Meadowsweet and Birdsfoot, to name a few 🌼🌾🌷🍀

Are you an avid forager? Fancy trampling through our wild wild woods, foraging in preparation for dinner? With a few of our woodland reared eggs of course 🥚🐔 cooked over the campfire, to compliment your spoils 🍳🔥

Before the snow fall, Mathew, our site manager was delivering firewood to a local farmer, who promptly told him that we should expect a "Blackthorn Winter", A nip of cold weather as the blackthorn flowers 💮

Sure enough, when we woke up this morning our woods and Crowfield Woodland Camping was covered in snow!🌨️

How on the nose are your weather predictions? Fancy testing them out and camping in the cold, silent, snowy woods?!⛺🌌❄️

Eggs-quisite! 🥚🍳

With Spring just around the corner, our chickens are laying egg-stra for all our campers here at Crowfield Woodland Camping

The gals are giving us olive eggs, blue eggs, speckled eggs, white eggs and some HUGE brown ones (thanks to the Thin White Duke 🐔)

Try some of our free range woodland reared eggs cooked over the fire 🔥, for your breakfast, lunch and or dinner! When you book with us, DM for more information and availability.

Next up, SUSUAGES! We are working hard at moving our weaners into new woodland pens, where they will graze on buttercup, meadowsweet, grass and all sorts of organic material.

Can you camp in the cold?

There is still a breath of Winter about the place, the mists, and the cool winds undo any warmth that the wintery sun brings. But who can resist a wild camp at Crowfield Woodland Camping?!

The first bag of logs for our campers is FREE till April to help stave off that evening chill. And, as my Nanna would say, “There is no bad weather, only bad clothes!”

We are £10 per night, per person, and work on a payment booking basis.

🪓🏞CALLING ALL BUSH CRAFTERS AND WILD CAMPERS 🏞🪓

Are you be interested in knowing how to fend for yourself in these cold winter months? How to ensure you use every part of your catch from generational knowledge and practices?

We still have spaces left for this seasonal event THIS SUNDAY THE 22nd

It's the perfect time of year as the Rabbits are still in the ground 🌨🌬 aka the next time this special event will be held NEXT YEAR

Tickets are £30 each and include coffee, a delicious lunch around a warm fire, as well as the 4hr workshop itself, with a Q&A afterward.

We will also be doing seasonal bush/ folk craft workshops throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled!

We are really excited to announce the FIRST of many TRADITIONAL COUNTRY SKILLS AND CRAFT events held at Crowfield Woodland Camping this year ⛺️

Jay, Marcus ,and their amazing animals will be kicking us off on the 22nd of Jan. With a day of active country side skills and foraging, these boys know their stuff!

The event will be an insight into the hunting and human dispatch of rabbit and grey squiral, with nothing wasted. Including traditional net making and how they use their working animals, dogs and ferrets.

Why not make a weekend of it? And camp with us from the Friday onwards, get stuck in!

Each event will be an opportunity to learn, make and do. As well as enjoy great company, make a new friend or two, enjoy the beautiful scenery and some delicious food!
