Beautiful sky over the Cottage the other night.

We've finally finished the building work on our own house so we can complete the work on Little Otter Cottage to hopefully get it back on the holiday market for Easter 🐣 🤞

The water level in the river is so low at the moment due to the dry spell we've been having but it's still beautiful 😍

We're just enjoying a bit of family time after the crazy busy spring/ summer farming seasons in between still pushing really hard to get the building work finished on our own house so we can move out of the cottage & rent it out again for everyone else to enjoy our wonderful piece of the Welsh countryside.

We'll keep you posted when we're nearly there. 😊

Great to see 2 of our locals on this list. Well done The Black Bear Inn (1 mile from the cottage) & The Hardwick (5 miles from the cottage), early booking advisable if you wish to enjoy their culinary delights when staying with us.

The Felin Fach Griffin in Brecon, The Hardwick in Abergavenny and The Black Bear Inn in Usk have made the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropub Awards.

Beautiful frosty morning this New Year's Eve day with snow on the mountains in the distance. Let's hope 2021 brings us lots of joy, happiness, health & freedom to explore our wonderful welsh countryside 😊

It's been a long time coming but we are finally making some progress with putting our Little Otter Cottage back together after the flooding in February.
New flooring, skirting, walls & woodwork painted and a lovely new wood burner. 😊

Wow, thanks to the culmination of & then with non stop rain our lovely Little Otter Cottage was flooded with 2ft of water when the flood bank which has kept us safe for the last 25yrs could not hold back the River Usk as it rose to its highest level in 40yrs.

A huge thank you to Bob & Wendy, our amazing guests who were enjoying their stay in our cottage at the time. We could not have asked for better guests who unasked moved everything they could upstairs to save it from the flood water & then waited it out without complaint till the flood water subsided.

We have spent the last 10 days clearing up the mess both in our holiday cottage & our own home next door & hope to be welcoming guests back to enjoy Little Otter Cottage as soon as we can.

Beautiful frosty foggy morning this morning with the sun just trying to break through, just as winter should be.
I think the early crocus have had a shock this morning & probably wish they'd stayed asleep a bit longer!
