Here are a few glimpses of the Creative Retreat venue for February 2025…

The quirky, luxurious, laid-back spaces make the perfect setting for you to enjoy some relaxing and creative days, with the added benefit of all the accommodation, meals and workshops as inclusive in your booking.

You can opt to fill both days with classes, or have a morning or afternoon to walk up the Skirrid mountain behind the Retreat, or curl up by one of the fires with a book, or perhaps visit the historic market town of Abergavenny…

Each room offers a different and carefully curated decor, utilising reclaimed and upcycled materials wherever possible, including each bedroom; upon entering, you immediately feel comfortable, looked after and inspired!

Very excited to announce our two-day (three nights) Creative Retreat dates in 2025!

Arrive on Friday evening, ahead of two wonderful days of your chosen creative workshops!

You’ll enjoy unique and luxurious rooms, three meals a day, plus refreshments, and two full days of creativity, all within the fantastic setting of _wonderfulescapes at the foot of the Skirrid mountain… you can opt for a walk up the Skirrid too of course!

Hello!

Have you ever wished you could get away from the distractions of everyday life? That you could leave behind all that stuff……just for a little while? That you could have the freedom to do whatever you fancy, whenever you fancy it, in the company of like-minded people?

Guess what? You can!

That’s why this retreat was created. As an artist and tutor who likes to try new things, this Retreat was made to hopefully be the sort of place that you would like to hang out in for a few days – and I’m inviting you to join us in the breathtakingly gorgeous surroundings of Wern Y Cwm – or ‘Alder of the Valley’.

When we share space with like-minded creative people, no matter what our personal discipline or what level we’re at, the magic of inspiration and shared ideas becomes even more powerful….and inspirational!

I am sad to say that due to an imminent emergency operation, I sadly have to postpone this Retreat for 2023.

I know this will be very disappointing news for us all.

I have emailed everyone who has booked, please check your inboxes and spam.

It seems it is my turn to Give Myself Time 😉

I know you will understand that health comes first, but I am very sorry we can’t meet up on this occasion.

Onions and carrots stewed in broth seasoned with salt & dried Daylily flowers & I collected in the summer. Day Lily flowers taste like all the ingredients in kimchi when they are raw. They completely change through drying into something much sweeter, almost like sweet carrot , and coming to think of it they’d probably look marvellous crumbled on the top of a carrot cake - and like carrots, day lily flowers are rich in beta carotene so you can have your cake & eat it)

Whether you wish to book a 3 day residential Retreat, or book one, two or theee separate days of workshops as a day guest, you can go to the website in the bio or Facebook event, go to Workshops tab and read through the variety of options. Clicking the button for workshop forms shows you which classes are fully booked, and which have availability.

Introducing the next workshop tutor at the Creative Retreat…

Learn or develop both wet-felting and needle-felting techniques, and create your own landscape, under the tuition of Emma of

 You will learn about felt-making, types of wool, and use your own image or the inspiration of the setting to make your seascape, landscape or abstract image, whilst enjoying a relaxing and creative workshop.
Emma is a qualified tutor and artist, having studied and explored the arts all her life, and her enthusiasm for wool and all its amazing properties will add to the fun and creativity of your workshop.

Landscape (feltmaking) Saturday 4th, all day from 11am - 5pm
