Sometimes I receive a booking that stops me in my tracks.

Today, someone booked a stay because they have recently lost family members and simply need somewhere to escape, breathe, and find a little peace. Reading that message brought a lump to my throat, because it reminded me exactly why this caravan means so much to me.

In 2022, I lost my dad. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. When he passed away, I used part of the inheritance he left me to buy this caravan. At the time, I never imagined what it would become.

What started as a way of keeping a part of him with me has turned into something so much bigger. Families have celebrated birthdays here, made precious memories with their children, reconnected after difficult times, and found somewhere to rest when life has felt heavy.

Every booking is more than dates in a diary. Behind each one is a story. Sometimes it’s excitement, sometimes it’s celebration, and sometimes it’s people trying to heal from heartbreak.

Knowing that this little caravan can give someone a safe place to laugh again, make memories, or simply sit quietly and gather themselves means the world to me.

With Father’s Day coming up on Sunday, I’ve found myself thinking about my dad even more than usual. He never got to see what this caravan would become, but I like to think he’d be proud. Every smile, every memory made here, and every family that finds a little happiness within these walls is part of his legacy.

And that is why I do what I do. ❤️

To the guest who booked today, I hope this little corner of the world brings you some comfort, peace, and happier moments during what I know must be an incredibly difficult time.

🐾 Important Update – We’re Now DOG Friendly 🐾

To comply with our caravan park rules, we are no longer able to advertise as pet friendly. Instead, we are now officially dog friendly.

We are happy to welcome up to two well-behaved, house-trained dogs per stay, provided they are not included on the park’s banned breeds list.

Please note:

🐶 Dogs must not be left unattended in the caravan at any time.

🐶 Dogs are not permitted on the bedding or seating. We kindly ask owners to bring their own dog beds and blankets to help keep the caravan comfortable for all guests.

🐶 Unfortunately, due to park regulations, we cannot accept cats, birds, rabbits, or any other pets—dogs only.

We love welcoming responsible dog owners and their furry companions, and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping us keep the caravan clean, comfortable, and enjoyable for all future guests.

A little note from the owner 💚

This is a post I shouldn’t have to write, but here we are…

This year, I’ve received more complaints and negative comments than ever before, and I wanted to share a few things that I hope guests will keep in mind before booking.

Taylor Tides Caravan is a pet-friendly caravan. While it is thoroughly cleaned between guests, a small amount of dog hair may occasionally be found. This is simply part of staying in accommodation that welcomes our four-legged visitors.

I also can’t control the weather, mobile phone signal strength, or WiFi performance in the area. Unfortunately, these are things that are completely outside of my control.

What many people don’t see is that behind this business is just one person. I work, I am a mum to a toddler, and I manage the caravan around family life and other commitments. If you choose to book shortly before check-in cut-off, please understand that I may not be able to instantly drop everything to accommodate last-minute requests.

I’d also like to ask guests to show more respect for the caravan itself. Sadly, on several occasions this year, the caravan has been left in a very poor condition, with excessive mess, damage, and a lack of basic consideration for the property. This caravan is something I have worked incredibly hard for, and I take great pride in providing a comfortable holiday home for families to enjoy. Seeing it repeatedly mistreated is both disheartening and costly.

I always do my best to provide a clean, comfortable and enjoyable stay for every guest, and I genuinely appreciate everyone who books with us. All I ask in return is a little patience, understanding and respect—for both the caravan and the people behind it. Please treat the caravan as you would your own home and remember that these are real people dealing with the cleaning, maintenance, messages, and bookings.

Thank you to the many lovely guests who continue to support us. Your kindness, understanding, and respect never go unnoticed. 💚
