BBQ smelled very promising but I was only given scraps… portion sizes could certainly be reviewed.

Speyside feels a little different after summer… 🍂🥃

As August gives way to September, the character of Speyside begins to change.
The landscape starts turning from green to gold, evenings draw in, and stopping somewhere for a dram suddenly feels less like sightseeing and more like a very good idea.

This is whisky country, after all.

It’s the season for distillery visits, good food, country pubs, autumn drives and discovering a side of Speyside that summer visitors don’t always get to see.
And with September and October still ahead of us, there’s no reason for the getaways to stop just because August does.

Speyside Gardens makes a great base for doing autumn your own way – whether you bring your own home-from-home or let us provide it.

Speyside Gardens Caravan Park is the location for today's pizza afternoon. I’ll be ready from 4pm - 7pm🍕🙂🍕

After this weekend, the pizza trailer is taking a little break, and mid-September will be the next time I roll out again.

🚐 Your caravan didn’t spend all winter in storage just to go away three times… 👀

**“We’ll only take the essentials this time…” 🚐**

Also us:

8 camping chairs.
Enough food to survive for three weeks.
17 bags.
Footwear for every possible weather condition.
A box of mystery cables that may or may not belong to anything.
A board game that leads to every family argument.
The dog’s entire worldly possessions. 🐾
And that one thing we take on every single trip and have **never once used**.

But will we leave any of it at home next time?

Absolutely not. 😂

August, you can slow down now… ☀️

Summer seems to disappear far too quickly at this point in the year.

One minute there’s a whole season ahead of us, the next we’re wondering how we’re already halfway through August!

We’re not ready to talk about autumn just yet though. There are still places to go, caravans to pack, tents to pitch and summer plans to be made. 🚐⛺️

🏃🥃 Running through the heart of whisky country…

The Dramathon returns to Speyside on Saturday 17th October, bringing runners from near and far to one of the most distinctive events in the Scottish running calendar.

Following much of the beautiful Speyside Way, the event takes runners past some of the region’s famous distilleries, with distances ranging from the Wee Dram 10K to the Full Dram marathon.

And there’s a particularly local connection for us – the Wee Dram starts right here in Aberlour! 📍

Taking part this year? Or coming along to support someone who is?
