You may know that we had our very own sun installed earlier this year...but did you know that there is a partial solar eclipse tomorrow night?

Please join the Dark Sky Group at the Skyhide in Tomintoul for a view of the partial solar eclipse on the evening of Wednesday 12th of August, weather permitting. We will have a suitably filtered telescope and plenty of eclipse glasses to view the event.

Eclipse commences at 6pm, reaches maximum at 7pm and ends at 8pm. This is quite a deep eclipse with approximately 90% of the Sun covered by the Moon.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO VIEW THE SUN WITHOUT CERTIFIED EQUIPMENT. PERMANENT EYE DAMAGE WILL RESULT

While we are closed to the public due to wildfires locally we are putting on a few hill trips at our working farm near Glenlivet. This activity involves a short walk through our hill farm to our herd of reindeer where you will get in amongst them and learn about these wonderful animals.
