Unlike other bunkhouses, it has eight en-suite rooms - either single, twin or family - for up to sixteen guests, all perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife watchers who crave a few home comforts. apturing the best of the sun and providing additional al fresco space including a games area. It's the perfect base for any outdoor adventure, with wildlife in and around the gardens, including pine martens feeding on the patio, red and roe deer, barn owls, tawny owls, buzzards, golden and sea eagles, and goshawks, to name a few! Owners Fay and Niall Rowantree's knowledge of the local area means they can suggest and organise activities to suit every taste. The Bunkhouse is also home to Wild Highland Tours (www.wildhighlandtours.co.uk), the Rowantrees' locally-based tourism guiding service which can take you out to explore the surrounding area. The Corran Ferry is returning and fingers crossed, will be in service on either Friday or Saturday.

Unfortunately, for many small businesses, the return of the ferry is coming too late for our seasonal trade. The ferry fiasco coupled with the effects of the cost of living crisis, has had severe financial implications for many small businesses.

Let’s hope there are no further breakdowns in the coming months.

Corran Ferry Repairs Update – Thursday 26 October

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) inspected the MV Corran on Wednesday, 25 October and successfully authorised the ‘Passenger Carrying Certificate’ required to resume service. https://ow.ly/8pVX50Q0YBt

Following the MCA inspection survey, the MV Corran is now on her return journey home.

It is currently planned that MV Corran will resume full service on either Friday, 27 October or Saturday 28 October, and will be confirmed and communicated to the public as soon as it is known.
