At the heart of Ardnamurchan, close to the villages of Strontian, Salen and Acharacle, it is the ideal base for wa

lking, cycling, nature-watching, fishing and touring. The road by it leads to the most westerly point on mainland Britain, passing through Glenborrodale where there is a RSPB reserve and a new distillery. About 7 miles to the north is the Ariundle Oakwood Nature Reserve with ancient moss-covered oaks; a remnant of the Atlantic oak forest that once covered most of the west coast. The apartment’s design makes the most of its magnificent situation, with a floor to ceiling window facing the loch to provide breath-taking views and from where guests can relax and watch the ever-changing scene unfold before their eyes. Wildlife abounds in the area, with otters, seals, porpoises, eagles and other sea birds spotted most days from both apartment and the area nearby.

🌧️ Even on a dreich day, Loch Sunart never fails to look beautiful. 💙

The weather might be doing its very best to remind us that we’re in the Scottish Highlands… but honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. 😍

There is something incredibly special about watching the mist roll across the mountains, the light change over the loch and the whole landscape become wonderfully wild and atmospheric.

This is the view from Rockpool House — and it’s right on the doorstep. 🌊🏔️

Imagine waking up here, making a coffee and sitting back to watch the loch come alive… no traffic, no crowds, no rush. Just peace, fresh Highland air and one of the most beautiful corners of Scotland.

As new owners of Rockpool House, we couldn't have wished for a better way to end our first week of hosting.
Anna & Julian travelled from Lincolnshire and spent their holiday exploring Iona, Mull, Ardtoe, Tioram Castle, Fort William, Loch Ness and the breathtaking Sanna Bay.
