🛸👀 Okay… what on earth is going on over Gruinard Bay?!

Our lovely guests John & Sharon captured this fantastic time-lapse video looking across the bay at night, and there’s something rather mysterious happening…

Watch closely at around 14 seconds and you’ll see a strange glow travelling left to right across the bay. 🌌✨

So what do you think it is?

👽 UFO?
🚁 Helicopter?
✈️ Plane?

We have absolutely no idea! 😂

Ted the Patterdale 🐾, Head of Security at Gruinard Bay, has been informed and will be increasing his night-time patrols immediately.

A huge thank you to John & Sharon for capturing it and sharing it with us! ❤️

🦭🦦 One of the best parts of welcoming guests to Gruinard Bay… ❤️

Here at Gruinard Bay Caravan Park, we always walk our guests to their pitch, whether they’re staying in a tent, touring pitch or one of our static caravan rentals.

Of course, we show you the showers, toilets, laundry and facilities… but one of the most rewarding parts of the job is showing our guests where they might spot our incredible local wildlife! 🥰

A huge thank you to Rob, one of our lovely guests, for sending us these amazing photos of the seals and otters. 📸🦭🦦

We’re incredibly lucky to have wildlife like this right on our doorstep. ❤️

Just a little reminder to give the wildlife plenty of space and enjoy watching them from a respectful distance. The best encounters are often the quiet ones. 🌊

💙 Pinch-me moments…

Sometimes we have to stop and remind ourselves just how incredibly lucky we are to live here. 🥰

A beautiful morning at Gruinard Bay Caravan Park, with the bay stretching out in front of us… and, just when you think the view couldn’t get any better, a little seal basking on the rocks. 🦭🌊

We genuinely get moments like this every day, and we’re so incredibly grateful to call this place home — and even luckier to be able to share it with our wonderful guests. ❤️

Gruinard Bay really is something special. 🥰

Reminder please give the Seals plenty of space and enjoy watching them from a distance.

🦭☀️ Apologies for the disturbance on the beach earlier today…

Normal sunbathing has now resumed at Gruinard Bay Caravan Park following a minor disagreement over prime rock real estate. 😂

There was a brief altercation this morning when one seal decided that his mate was occupying his favourite rock… so naturally, the only reasonable solution was to push him into the sea and nick it for himself! 🤣🦭

Thankfully, peace has now been restored and the gang are back to their usual routine of swimming about, climbing onto their favourite rocks and generally looking ridiculously cute. ❤️

Although, judging by the looks we’re getting, we suspect the argument may not be completely over… 👀😂

Just another day in Gruinard Bay!

🎨🐾 Wow… what an incredible find today! 🐾🎨

Ted was out conducting one of his very important routine patrols of the park today when he discovered these incredibly well-painted rocks! 😍

The artwork is genuinely incredible, and we absolutely love them. ❤️

We won’t mention any names, of course… 🤫😂 But they were discovered somewhere in the general vicinity of Pitch 6, Pitch 7, Pitch 8, Pitch 9, Pitch 10 and Heron’s Watch! 🤣

It’s actually rather special to know that these rocks were painted by members of a family and their friends who have been coming to Gruinard Bay for over 40 years. 🥰

It’s families and friendships like these that make Gruinard Bay so special. We’re incredibly lucky to have so many wonderful guests who return year after year, creating memories and becoming such a big part of the Gruinard Bay family. ❤️

Thank you for leaving us such a beautiful little piece of artwork to discover! 🎨🪨🌊

And well done, Ted, on another successful investigation! 🐾😂

🌧️➡️🌅 A little bit of Highland weather… and a whole lot of wildlife! 🦭❤️

We’ve had a rather drizzly couple of days here at Gruinard Bay, but honestly… it’s all worth it when you get to witness incredible moments like these.

This morning, despite the rain, one of the little seal pups was getting brave and exploring the rocks around the bay. 🦭 He found himself a favourite rock, carefully climbed up onto it and settled down for a well-earned rest. ❤️

And then, as if to remind us why we love this place so much, the weather decided to put on a spectacular show this evening… 🌅

The rain may have brought a few grey skies, but the sunset over Gruinard Bay was absolutely breathtaking. 🌊✨

Rainy mornings, curious seal pups and spectacular sunsets… just another day at Gruinard Bay. 💙

🦦🦅 Nature at its absolute best! ❤️

We're incredibly lucky to witness some amazing wildlife here at Gruinard Bay, but moments like this are truly something special.

A huge thank you to Chris, one of our wonderful static caravan owners and an avid bird watcher, for getting up bright and early to capture this fantastic footage taken a couple of weeks ago. 👏

The video shows an otter enjoying its freshly caught breakfast on the rocks in the bay, while, towering just above, a magnificent white-tailed sea eagle patiently watches, no doubt hoping for a few leftovers! What an incredible encounter between two of Scotland's most iconic wild animals.

It's moments like these that remind us just how privileged we are to call this beautiful corner of the Highlands home, and how special it is to be able to share it with all of our guests.

Have you ever been lucky enough to spot an otter or a sea eagle here at Gruinard Bay? We'd love to hear about your wildlife encounters in the comments! 🦦🦅

A few more magical wildlife moments from Gruinard Bay... 🦭🦦

These lovely photos, taken over the last couple of weeks, capture a seal mum and her pup relaxing on the rocks, while one of our resident otters enjoys a spot of fishing nearby. It's a reminder of just how special this part of the Highlands is.

Whether you're watching wildlife from the shore, exploring the coastline, or simply taking in the breathtaking views, every day brings something new here at Gruinard Bay Caravan Park.

If you're lucky enough to spot our local wildlife, please remember to enjoy it from a respectful distance. Seal mums and their pups are especially vulnerable, so giving them plenty of space helps keep them safe and allows them to rest undisturbed. Thank you for helping us protect the wonderful wildlife that makes Gruinard Bay so special. 💙

I always get a little worried when Krissy says, “I’ve had an impromptu idea!” 🤦🏻‍♂️

This time, though, it turned out to be a brilliant one! We moved the garden furniture outside Reception, set up the TV, and settled in to watch England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 take on Argentina 🇦🇷 in the World Cup.

Okay… the result didn’t quite go the way we were hoping, but that certainly didn’t spoil the evening. A huge well done to the England team on a fantastic World Cup campaign. You did yourselves proud, shown incredible determination throughout the tournament, and given us all some unforgettable moments. 👏⚽

It was fantastic to spend a relaxed summer evening with guests from England, Scotland, the Netherlands and Germany, all enjoying the match together. These are the moments we treasure—great company, plenty of laughs, and a chance for everyone (including us!) to unwind.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a lovely evening. The best part? By the end of the night, everyone had agreed they would come back and do it all again in four years’ time! 😊 We look forward to welcoming you all back!

…all at the same time. ❤️

We genuinely feel so incredibly lucky to call this place home, and it’s such an honour to be able to share moments like these with our wonderful guests.

Sometimes nature really does put on the most spectacular show, and we’re so grateful to experience it here at Gruinard Bay. 💙
