Think you can only catch the Aurora Borealis in the dead of winter? 🌌

These photos were taken between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM exactly a year ago today (May 17th, 2025), capturing the incredible display lighting up the night sky right over SEApods - Isle of Lewis!

Even as our days get longer and the nights get shorter, that magical glow can still make a surprise appearance. There is always a chance to witness a spectacular show if you know when to look!

We were delighted to host Jacob Little, the talented writer behind Pints and Pathways, during his winter adventure through the Outer Hebrides.

Jacob has just published a beautiful piece in the Low Season Traveller magazine about the magic of the islands in the quiet months, focusing on the solitude, the storms, and the local community.

We are so chuffed to be featured as his "delightful respite from the breeze" while the gales were blowing outside! 💨🏠

He perfectly captured why we love being open all year round. There is nothing quite like watching the Atlantic from the warmth of a pod.
