Craich Cottage is an extensively renovated and extended holiday home, furnished to provide comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to six people. We are pleased to say that the quality of the accommodation has resulted in the cottage being awarded "3-Star Self-Catering" status by VisitScotland (Scottish Tourist Board) and we have achieved Silver award level as members of the Green Tourism B

The cottage is situated in a quiet location with beautiful views of the surrounding hills in the Donside area of Aberdeenshire, on the edge of the Grampian Highlands. It is located on a small, family-run working farm which has both sheep and cattle (including Highland Cattle) in the surrounding fields. It is ideally positioned as a central point for the exploration of the many attractions in Aberdeenshire and the surrounding Grampian region. The cottage has its own parking area and a completely enclosed and sizeable patio and garden. Patio furniture is supplied so you can enjoy a leisurely meal outside. As a result an extensive variety of birds frequent the garden and its surroundings. There is a bird-table in the garden so you can encourage them to stop a little longer. Foxes and even deer can be seen occasionally, provided you are quiet and observant. Short walks along the lanes adjoining the farm will allow you to see even more as well as butterflies and wild flowers in abundance.

Spring has finally sprung at Craich Cottage! Our first swallow was spotted last weekend, and several Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock butterflies have been seen around and about. We're looking forwrd to a great Summer!

With today's easing of COVID-19 restrictions we are pleased to say we are now open once more!
From today we are able to welcome visitors again - although, at least in the short term, there will be some restrictions that will apply such as group composition, the need for social distancing, etc. Please consult the on-going government guidelines at the time of your visit to see what restrictions are still in place.
Also, in order for us to complete the enhanced cleaning required between bookings, please be aware that guests will be requested to leave the cottage by 10am and entry by new arrivals will have to be delayed until 5pm.

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS: Unfortunately we are temporarily closed.
As Aberdeenshire is now under Tier 3 restrictions and will be moving in to Tier 4 restrictions on 26th December, the Cottage will be unavailable to rent at least until the end of January 2021. We will post another update once we are able to open again.

EASING OF COVID-19 LOCKDOWN RESTRICTIONS: WE ARE RE-OPENING!
We are pleased to say that we shall be re-opening the cottage for bookings from Saturday 4th July.
While COVID-19 continues to circulate in the population we will be introducing certain procedures and making certain requests of our guests during their stay.
For the safety of our guests and ourselves we shall be including a 4-day enhanced cleaning and decontamination regime between each booking until further notice. This will inevitably reduce our availability, but safety is paramount.
During their stay we shall be asking our guests to continue to observe the recommended current personal hygiene guidelines (a hand sanitiser will be available); to put aside any books, games or DVDs that are made use of so that they can be quarantined/cleaned; and to strip beds and bag bed linen before departure.
These requests are for your safety and we hope you will not find them too onerous. We look forward to seeing you at Craich Cottage (at a suitable social distance!).
