Golden hour hues at Cragside🌿🧡 making this location look even more fairytale like!

Cragside was the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectric power. Built and developed in the 1860s–80s by Victorian inventor and industrialist Lord Armstrong.

The house was essentially a working experiment in new technology, water from the surrounding lakes powered turbines to generate electricity long before it became common in homes. The landscape around the house was just as carefully engineered. What looks like wild woodland and tumbling waterfalls is actually one of the earliest large-scale examples of a man-made landscape designed to work with nature.

Lush Review, received yesterday regarding Emblestone View; properly set us up for the week!!

“We left this morning. I wanted to say how much we enjoyed our week! What a great cottage, it feels like a home not just a holiday rental. Lovely bedding, cosy lounge and a kitchen that is so well equipped. We sat in the Summer house and enjoyed the garden too, a real pleasure. Everything has been thought of to provide a comfortable stay!The location is so unique and perfect and the beach so beautiful! Sorry to leave….

We love , not just because it’s stunning, in a wonderful location and with fantastic views, but it was the “first” property to join the family! There’s a whole host of Guests who have enjoyed their time; many come a couple of times a year and re-book as they leave for their next visit! We don’t often shout about it, so we thought we’d show it some love and tell you that NOW might be a good time to try for a visit next year, before it fills up again! (Sleeps 6 in 3 ensuite bedrooms)
