We had a lovely Morning at Beadnell, and managed to get lots more books for the share shed on the site. We then snuck to the beach ( half way between Beadnell and Seahouses, it’s always quiet there.)
We returned to a very kind gift for the girls from some lovely guests that were sadly leaving today.
Thank you Wright family the girls were very grateful for the bracelets and sweeties

Ghosts, dogs, and Harry Potter theories... 👻🐾⚡

What a brilliant crowd we had for last night’s Ghost Walk! We had a fantastic mix of locals and visitors, firm believers, curious sceptics... and even a very well-behaved four-legged explorer keeping us company in the dark. 🐕‍🦺✨

We’ve had some lovely photos and feedback coming in from the group, including an incredible new theory from our youngest guests of the night...

Following our discussion of the famous phantom black dog sighted by security guards at Alnwick Castle, they asked: Could it actually be a Grim? 🧙‍♂️⚡ Given Alnwick Castle's famous starring role as Hogwarts, we think they might just be onto something there!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for such an atmospheric evening.

One of Northumberland’s finest medieval treasures is hidden inside this tiny country church.

St Peter’s at Chillingham dates largely from the 12th century and still retains Norman stonework. Yet its greatest surprise is inside the south chapel - the spectacular 15th-century tomb of Sir Ralph Grey and his wife Elizabeth FitzHugh, described by archaeologists as arguably the most important medieval monument in Northumberland.

The Grade I listed church sits quietly among the trees near Chillingham Castle, small enough to overlook and holding something far grander than its modest exterior suggests. Another Northern place where stopping for a proper look pays off handsomely.
