After 13 very happy years of welcoming guests to St Mary’s Hall and making some amazing memories, it’s time for us to move on to new adventures. The new owners plan to make St Mary’s Hall their home, so the B&B is now officially closed. The end of an era!

Over the years we’ve enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, and lots of our regular guests have become friends so we’d love to keep in touch – please do drop us an email at [email protected]

Happy Birthday , hope everyone can enjoy a little 'Jane' today :)

Today marks Jane Austen's 245th birthday, born on this day in 1775.

We look forward to welcoming visitors to Jane's home on this special day and we will be raising our teacups to Jane at our virtual birthday tea party this evening!

Sorry we've been a bit quiet on Facebook recently - we've been busy making St Mary's Hall covid safe for our guests, and we have some BIG news to share... 📢 St Mary's Hall is up for sale! After 12 very happy years here it's time for us to move on. We're really sad to go but we're leaving behind a cracking business and a gorgeous family home for someone to enjoy so if you know anyone who's in the market for a change of lifestyle or a one-of-a-kind house please contact Hamptons International! Fantastic to see local attractions like Chawton House and Jane Austen's House are getting ready to reopen - both are only a short walk from us here at St Mary's Hall and we know our guests love to visit just as much as we do ❤️

This weekend we made blackcurrant jam from our homegrown fruit and we CAN'T WAIT to serve it to our lovely guests when we re-open! We're busy going through the updated government guidance now and we'll post an update soon about what we'll be doing to make sure our guests can visit safely and how to book... watch this space! 🤩

Our green fingers have been kept busy while we've been closed 🌱 The garden is blooming and we hope guests will be able to come and enjoy it with us again soon ❤️

Our new "guests" have made themselves right at home judging by the sounds coming from the bird box - just in time for the new series of BBC Springwatch tonight! 🐦

We can't wait until it's safe to welcome human guests again, but for now we're delighted by the arrival of these baby blue t**s 😍

What a fabulous start to yesterday! We're so lucky to have Chawton House just around the corner, but until they can re-open their Lockdown Literary Festival this weekend is the next best thing - and what a line up! St Mary's Hall even makes a little cameo appearance in best selling author Alison Larkin's talk (available on YouTube 👇)! It was such a pleasure to have Alison stay with us when she she spoke at Chawton House for Regency Week last year ❤️

Absolutely delighted with this surprise delivery from The New Forest Hamper Company ❤️ What a fabulous gift and not only was everything delicious, but it's supporting local businesses too 🥰 Chock full of goodies from Hattingley Valley Wines, Lyburn Cheese, Rosary Goats Cheese, The Isle of Wight Biscuit Company and New Forest Aromatics - we're spoilt for choice!

It feels VERY strange not having lots of lovely guests to look after on a bank holiday weekend but we're ready to commemorate VE Day by staying at home here at St Mary's Hall 🇬🇧
