We first had contact from Toby back in January this year, not long after losing a very good friend in a climbing accident in France.

Toby and his friends were looking for a large accommodation where they could all meet up to celebrate the life of Bruce and share memories and stories. They considered several properties but Radcliffes Lodge was a clear winner with the group.

The group arrived on the Friday night from all over the UK and Europe and quickly made use of the lounge kitchen and dining room, sharing beer food and stories until late into the night.

The Saturday was a day out bouldering for most of the group enjoying some of Northumberland’s hidden away climbing and bouldering spots…

On the Saturday night they invited Bruce’s parents to the Lodge for dinner and to look through pictures they all were sharing.

Sunday was a quick swim and breakfast then they all headed off leaving the lodge in a very clean and tidy manner…

Thanks to Toby and all.

“A spectacular outdoor event is due to take place at Amble’s Little Shore, which it’s hoped will instill feelings of wonder, a renewed sense of place and community, and the transformation of a familiar landscape.

The free event will consist of projections, performance, immersive soundscapes, kinetic art, puppets, spirit walkers, night flights, live music and interactive installations. placed around the Little Shore and Pier.

Members of the public are invited to promenade around the area between 5pm- 7pm on Saturday 2 November, and take in the lights, sounds and atmosphere.” The Ambler - Amble's Community Newspaper, & drywaterarts

They ended day 1 of the Coast and Castles cycle route at Radcliffes Lodge and spent the evening in cooking (possibly heating up!)

Dinner and enjoyed a glass or 2 of wine looking out over the marina …perfect!

Sadly this was the last stay the 2024 season for Saddle Skedaddle, however on a positive note we have their 4 dates booked in for 2025.

They had a very wet and chilly ride into us on the Thursday afternoon from Newcastle but as you can see Mario had them up early and smiling ready for day 2 and thankfully the sun was shining….
