Another busy Bank Holiday weekend in the Lakes but if you want to get away from it all and enjoy our amazing scenery just ask us for advice over our fabulous cooked breakfast😋.

We've climbed every single Wainwright peak in the Lake District and know all the quieter spots you can hike or swim in. This secluded tarn is just a 40 minute hike from a car park and can be combined with a longer hike to an amazing Farmhouse teashop 🍰

Kirkstone Pass Inn is the Lake Districts highest pub. Standing at 1489ft and dating from 1496 it is well worth the 5km gentle hike from our front door.

Closed for several years it will be fully reopen before Easter and I popped in yesterday and can personally vouch that the beer is excellent 🍺

We're thrilled to welcome our newest neighbours to the street 😁

Lakes Brew Co Tap have finally opened in the Old Mill on the opposite side of the beck to us. We've already been out to 'test drive' them on behalf of our guests 😏 and can report back with our full approval 🍻

We might have to pop back on the odd occasion just to make sure that standards don't slip but we're confident this local brewery are up to the task. Hope you have a great Christmas period guys🎅

We had 3 cosy nights in the Stockghyll room, overlooking the stream. This is a home from home guest house, tastefully decorated to compliment the charm of the 300+ years old home. We appreciated the daily flapjacks and thankyou for the Prosecco for our 25th anniversary. Paul & Debbie are brilliant,....

Super excited to be Phoebe's first customers today! Bumble's Rest will be open Thursday to Monday. Today is just cakes and hot drinks, but stews, soup and chilli will be on the menu.Thursday will be late opening for board games.

Not long to wait for our favourite day of the year in Ambleside, the volunteer team started putting up the first of the lights early on Sunday morning🎄 Let's hope they get them all up in time 🥹

We're only 5 weeks away from this years light switch on and we still have some tickets for the Morning and Afternoon Santa Cruises available.

Autumn is our favourite season in the Lakes 🍂The leaves are falling🍁the colours are changing and all the bracken is starting to die back. It's the perfect time for a walk in the valleys without having to wrap up too warm. All the best pubs have their fires lit🔥
