We have taken the sad decision to close Haven Cottage as a bed & breakfast and as from 3rd November 2025 we are no longer open for stays.

We are so grateful to all of the guests who chose to stay at haven Cottage over the years.

It was a beautiful December morning for a walk to Rydal Water and Rydal Caves, it was so still the reflections were amazing.
There is something about the Lake District, it is a magical place.

There is nothing more lovely than sitting and watching the sunset over Lake Windermere at Waterhead.
Waterhead is about a mile walk from Haven Cottage.

Yesterday we climbed Pike o’Blisco, we had nearly got to the top before from Langdale but for various reasons had to stop, so we went from Wrynose Pass.
Not being the best July day for weather, the views from the top were not the best! But occasionally the cloud broke a little.
It is always atmospheric with low cloud and it didn’t really rain, a bonus for us.
47 Wainwright fells ticked off now for Amanda 😊.
We don’t really have any availability in July, but the Balcony Suite is available on Monday 5th August for 2 nights.

Today we had a great day at St Bees, it was just over an hours journey from Haven Cottage.

We went for a walk along the coastal path and then a paddle in the sea.

It is a beautiful beach and we will definitely be returning.
