🍂 Our top things to do around Ambleside in October...

1. Walk to Stock Ghyll Force. This is an easy walk from the centre of Ambleside to a beautiful waterfall. Autumn woodland makes this particularly good in October.
2. Hike Loughrigg Fell. Probably our top choice if you want a proper Lake District walk without tackling a huge mountain. You get fantastic views over Windermere, and the autumn colours will be beautiful.
3. Walk Ambleside to Rydal. This lovely half or full-day outing boasts waterfalls, woodland, lake views and the atmospheric Rydal Cave.
4. Take a boat from Waterhead. Walk down to Ambleside (Waterhead Pier) and take a cruise on Windermere. Autumn is a particularly nice time to be on the lake, and you can combine the boat with a walk.
5. If you're here around Halloween or the school half term there are lots of Halloween activities around, including events at Brockhole. Simply ask our team on arrival for some local knowledge!
