The B&B was full of runners this weekend, staying in Ambleside to do the Lakeland Trails Ultra aces. It's lovely that these running events bring such a great vibe to the village and great for me to be able to chat about races and running routes in the area with my guests! A few photos from my run out with friends on Saturday morning up Thornthwaite Crag and High Street.

Townend in Troutbeck is an old 17th century farmhouse once owned by the Browne family and now one of the many properties in the Lake District owned by the National Trust. A fantastic place to visit on a wet weather day!
The little cottage garden is absolutely gorgeous 🪻🥀🌿 and the old bank barn opposite is still in use by the local farmer.

This weekend was beautifully warm and sunny, perfect for all our guests who were almost all runners!
Richard and Alastair were running the Brathy Windermere marathon, Dave and Andrea were out supporting friends running it (Dave was supposed to do it but injury stopped him) and Andy and Laura had a day out in the fells, running leg 2 of the Bob Graham round from Threlkeld to Dunmail Raise, taking in the Dodds, Helvellyn and Fairfield.
I managed to get out for a short run too, up our local fell, Loughrigg which gave me fantastic views of the start of the marathon.

After a very wet February the sunshine has now made an an appearance and the Lake District is looking fabulous with Snow on the mountain tops.

It's not long now until we are back from our annual winter break - refreshed, relaxed and looking forward to meeting all our lovely guests again 😍

We will be opening on 1st March and this year are offering 1 night bookings for most of March and April (mid-week only). Look forward to seeing you 🙂
