🍂🎃👻 Ready for some hauntingly good times this October half term? Here are some more frightfully fun ideas we’ve put together to celebrate 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 with the whole family!

🏰 Carew Castle are going all out with a plethora of events over half term.
🧟‍♂️ From the 25th October to 2nd November, you can explore the Creepy Mill haunted house (included with entry fee), or join the Pumpkin Patch Adventure and search the castle for clues for £2 per child (plus entry fee).
🕸 From the 28th to 31st October at 4:30pm you can take part in an hour long family friendly Ghost Tour for £8.50 per adult and £6.50 per child (plus entry fee), advance booking required.
⚰ And on the 31st October from 6pm to 10pm, get really spooky and book in for a Paranormal Investigation with Science Beyond the Grave! Join them as they use a combination of traditional methods and cutting edge technology to investigate one of the most haunted castles in Wales after hours. £40pp (18+), advance booking required.

🌚 After Dark at Heatherton is back!
😨 Between the 27th and 31st October from 5:30pm to 9pm, you can put your courage to the test and find your way through the Haunted Hedge Maze with live scarecrows, twisting paths, and tricky dead ends (recommended for ages 10+).
⛳ Or for a less intense evening, grab your clubs, balls, and scorecards, and play some Pirates of the Caribbean themed Mini Golf.
🍕 You can also enjoy some delicious freshly cooked pizza from Pembrokeshire Woodfired Pizza Company.

👻 Join the Tenby Halloween Ghost Walk and see the seaside town in a different light.
☠ On the 31st of October at 6pm or 9pm, take an immersive tour of Tenby that delves into the spooky history of the town, its myths, and legends, including pirates and paranormal encounters! You’ll also get a goodie bag to enjoy along the way. Fancy dress is encouraged!
Tours also available on the 26th and 28th to 30th October.

🎆 And for a FREE event: From the 24th to 26th of October you can catch two free fireworks displays every night at the Saundersfoot Big Bang, with the Mini Bang at 6:30pm and the Big Bang at 8:30pm. There’s also a funfair running daily from 2pm.

🍂🎃👻 Looking for some 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 thrills this October half term? Here are some wickedly fun activities we’ve found to get the whole family in the spooky spirit!

🦁 Folly Farm are pulling out all the stops with their events, games and talks.
🚂 From now until 2nd November you can find the clues along the Scarecrow Trail, play the themed VR ride Haunted Hallows Escape for 2 tokens per person (plus entry fee), take the Ghost Train for 1 token pp (plus entry fee), or hop on the Haunted Hay Bales Land Train.
🕷 From 25th October to 2nd November, you can meet the Creepy Creatures in the barn, learn about Venoms Vs Poisons at 12pm daily, follow the Poo in the Zoo trail, or get a themed Glitter Tattoo (£5 each or 2 for £8). There are also treats for anyone who visits in costume!
🕵️‍♀️ From the 27th to 31st October you can join the Dung Detectives Poo Workshop for £4 per child (plus entry fee), advance booking required, but adults don’t need to book or pay an additional fee.
Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for the pumpkin puzzle feeders the keepers give to the animals for some spooky enrichment.

🎃 Steynton Farm Pumpkins is perfect for visiting with the little ones, with a pumpkin barn and pick your own pumpkin field, plus photo opportunities, sweet and savoury snacks, and hot and cold drinks.

🌙 Castell Henllys are giving you the chance to turn back the clock and get involved with a more traditional Halloween experience.
🧙‍♂️ On the 28th October, join them for Druid Magic and learn some iron age druidic secrets like fire lighting, bread making, and face painting for £7 per child (plus entry fee).
📖 On the 31st October you can celebrate Samhain, or Noson Calan Gaeaf, with the villagers. Get stuck in with some hands on activities and listen to fireside stories for £10.50 per adult and £8.50 per child (plus entry fee).
👹 And between 25th October and 2nd November you can explore the Haunted Henllys Trail, seeking out spirits, ghosts, and monsters. Capture their images or names to claim a prize!

🍂🐶✨ Searching for some 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 family and dog friendly activities in Pembrokeshire this autumn and October half term? Here are some more suggestions we’ve put together to add to your list!

🥾🌊 Take the family and your faithful pooch on a scenic walk through the UK’s only Coastal National Park on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
Bordering almost the entire county, the Coastal Path stretches over 186 miles - from St Dogmaels to Amroth - and was previously voted as the second best coastal destination by National Geographic.
For a particularly picturesque and peaceful hike, we recommend seeking out St Govan’s Chapel. There’s a large free car park nearby, but the road to it goes through Castlemartin, an MOD firing range, and may be closed if live training is taking place.

⛱🦀 There are over 50 beaches to explore in the county and along the Coastal Path, many with caves, coves, and rockpools - ideal for spotting some of our local marine life like crabs, starfish, and anemones.
Apparently Saundersfoot has a great little cove just along the old tramway that’s worth checking out (parking charges may apply), so grab the wellies, hats, and coats, and see what you can find!
And if you have a dog, you’ll be glad to know the summer beach restrictions have been lifted, so they can join in the fun as well.
Take care on the rocks and seaweed as they can be very slippery, and be a rockpool guardian by making sure you leave any creatures you find in their natural environment.

🦴🐚 While you’re at the beach, why not take your own step back in time and search the sand, scree, and shale for some prehistoric fossils? With previously found specimens including corals, trilobites, and graptolites, you’ll be surprised what you might come across.
We’ve heard Marloes Sands and Abereiddy Bay are the best places to look (parking charges may apply).
Please note: A lot of the beaches where fossils can be found are Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), so please do not attempt to remove anything from the cliffs, break down larger rocks, or dig into the bedrock.

⚓ Did you know Pembroke Dock used to lead the world in ship building? Spend an hour or two at the West Wales Maritime Heritage Museum and get an in depth look at the history of seafaring in the area in this volunteer run working museum.
With interactive displays, guided tours, a trove of artefacts and books, and the chance to see some classic boats being carefully restored and sailed, it’s a fascinating destination for all ages.

And on Wednesday 29th October, you can get in the Halloween spirit and join them for their Fireside Frights & Toasty Bites event where you can toast apples while listening to spooky stories and wild tales from National Park rangers around the firepit – costumes are encouraged!
