The waters around the Isle of Coll and the spectacular West Coast of Scotland are home to an incredible variety of birdlife, from majestic white-tailed sea eagles and graceful gannets to colourful puffins, guillemots, razorbills, oystercatchers and so much more.

To help you make the most of every sighting, we’ve got the RSPB British Bird Book and a pair of binoculars in our guest lounge. So, whether you’re relaxing with your morning coffee or unwinding after a day of exploring, you can enjoy a spot of birdwatching in serious luxury.

🌟 Meet the Team – James 🌟

We are almost positive that James is an ornament at this rate!

Officially, he’s our gardener… but in reality, he is so much more! From keeping the gardens looking beautiful, to sparkling glassware, to being our chief pot washer when things get busy, there’s very little he doesn’t turn his hand to.

He’s also our go-to right hand man, always ready to help wherever he’s needed, and has very much become part of the Smalley family – our adopted uncle in residence!

If you’ve stayed with us this summer, you’ve almost certainly seen James in action or heard his random outbursts of song🤣

Thank you, James, for everything you do. We truly couldn’t do it without you, and we’re so lucky to have you as part of the Tigh na Mara family. 💙

We promise the silverware won’t go to Paula’s head… although with five trophies, she may need a bigger shelf! 😂
