September’s Wine Supper Club is next Monday 🍷

Here’s what’s on the menu:

- Nutbourne tomato and stracciatella bruschetta

- Dorset crab with pearl barley rice, courgettes and aioli

- Elderberry and dark chocolate mousse with toasted buckwheat

Three seasonal courses, thoughtfully paired wines and a seat at our shared table. Come with friends or arrive on your own - either way, it’s an easy way to begin the month in good company.

Make The Black Horse your base for the shooting season 🌿

Set at the foot of the South Downs in Amberley, our family-run, dog-friendly pub with rooms is within easy reach of some of the finest shoot country in West Sussex.

Run by Richard and Oliver Gladwin, who grew up in the village, The Black Horse is rooted in the surrounding countryside: good food grown, reared and shot close by, wild game on the menu and wines from the family’s own Nutbourne Vineyards.

After a day in the field, come back to good food, a lit fire, a glass in hand and your dog at your feet 🔥🍷

Bookings for eight or more guests receive 10% off our Dinner, Bed & Breakfast package.

Free parking is available at the Village Car Park on School Road, kindly provided by the Amberley community and just a three-minute walk from the pub.

Our August wine special was discovered at a wedding in Dorset, where all 120 guests abandoned the usual summer whites and spent the evening drinking this big, juicy red 🍷

A blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah, it’s full of black cherry, red cherry and cassis, with notes of chocolate, liquorice and to***co.

Bold but beautifully easy-drinking - and proof that red wine still has a place at the table in August ☀️

Available by the glass at all our restaurants throughout the month.

On Wednesday 27th May, we’re hosting Brush & Bubbles in the Garden Room at The Black Horse - an evening of painting, good company, and glasses of Nutty Wild sparkling rosé from our family vineyard, .

Guided by , you’ll paint your very own full bottle of Nutty Wild to take home with you at the end of the evening. No experience needed whatsoever - just come along ready to have fun.
