We’re very excited for Mayfield Village Show, held at Mayfield Recreation Ground, just 1 mile from Mayfield Snuggery Lodges.

House Martins zooming around the Snuggery🐦‍⬛
Such a lovely sight 🖤

House Martins are most active in the morning and evenings. They zoom around at mid-height, usually in flocks, coming down low over water. You might even see them collecting mud to build their nests. House Martins can often be seen in towns and villages, due to their reliance on buildings for nesting.

Did you know?
House Martin pairs work together to build their nest using around a thousand pellets of mud, each carefully collected using their beaks. House Martins often re-use their nests, so if you find a nest on your house don’t knock it down!

House Martins have declined in recent years and are now on the UK Red List of Conservation Concern.

Out with the old and in with the new 🛋️
We always ask our guests for honest feedback. Our guest experience means such a lot to us, we want them to have the most comfortable stay.

Recent 'Tawnies Nest' guests left us written feedback saying that they found the sofa uncomfortable. We saw this feedback as soon as the guests checked out and both myself and Jason (owners of the lodges) tested out the sofa. We both agreed that the 3 seater sofa was not very comfortable and had passed its best.

We realise that sometimes things come down to personal preference, and we respect that everyone's tastes are different. But when we genuinely feel that something isn't up to the standard we want for our guests, we act on it straight away.

We drafted Kevin (Jason's Dad) in to help remove the sofa and also the matching two seater sofa so that we could replace it with a brand new set of sofas. Within 1 hour from reading the feedback sheet, we had positioned brand new sofas in the lounge.

We really are owners that care ❤️

“Came for our first wedding anniversary and was greeted with a card bottle of fizz and chocolate ❤️ the lodges are exceptional and have everything you need. We had planned walks, pub lunches and the local beer festival but we were that relaxed we haven’t left here for 3 blissful days. The cleanliness is outstanding and the attention to detail in every room is second to none …. We have our anniversary retreat and will be back every year thank you to Jason and Ruby for everything xx”
