This weekend (30 & 31 May) I’m taking part in the ARTbourne Art Trail in the lovely town of Ashbourne. More than 100 artists will be located in 20+ historic venues around the town. You’ll find potters, painters, weavers, sculptors, ceramicists, jewellers, textile artists … plus the odd photographer. 🤗 There’s also live music, street food and art demonstrations.

You simply buy a wristband for £5, which gives you entry to all the venues for the whole weekend, plus a trail map and an artist guide booklet, and then you wander the trail at your own pace. Children under 12 are free with an adult wristband holder.

You’ll find me with a full range of my products in the Town Hall, which is in the centre of the town opposite the Market Place. It would be lovely to see some of you there! 👋🏼

Lovely 80 minute walk, right from the lodge doorstep 💚

Head along the bridle path all the way to the T junction. Turn right. Then take the left hand lane as the road forks into two. Down the very steep hill. Carefully cross the main road at the bottom. Turn right and start walking up the hill. Then turn left as you see the opening on the left. Follow the track alongside the river. Then at the end, head up the steps on your right. Up through the recreational ground. Turn left on to the country lane and then follow it along all the way until you reach the church. Go through the church yard and follow the public footpath through to the b road. Take extra care crossing this fast road. Walk down Hermitage lane and then turn right on to Slack Lane and back to the holiday lodges 😊

A lovely bottomless brunch was enjoyed by some of the Mayfield Snuggery ladies today.

We were taxi’d over to The Star at Cotton (only a 12 minute drive from the lodges) for their Mamma Mia themed bottomless brunch - and it did not disappoint. A sharing platter for lunch, a delicious cocktail menu, and hours of disco tunes and ABBA ballads courtesy of the DJ.

We were singing pretty much the whole afternoon… only pausing to eat and drink. Honestly, what’s not to love about that on a Saturday?

If you’re staying at Mayfield Snuggery and fancy dining out during your stay, The Star at Cotton is a charming gastropub in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands. It’s also handy for Alton Towers. Fresh, locally sourced food, gorgeous cocktails, a cosy welcoming atmosphere and lovely staff✨

We’re hop, skip and jumping into the weekend, and Mayfield Snuggery is looking beautifully inviting in the sunshine.

It’s been all stations go putting the finishing touches in place so everything is spotless and ready for check-in. From our freshly laundered, in-house linens and country style comforts to those all important moments of relaxing and unwinding in the hot tub and sauna. Guests are starting to arrive and others are on their way.
