Callow Hall is a unique country house hotel with an unrivalled setting and renowned restaurant, situated in

the heart of the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District, close to the lively market town of Ashbourne. Surrounded by 35 acres of private garden, fields and woodland overlooking the Bentley Brook and vale of the River Dove, this ivy-clad luxury Dovedale hotel really is a haven of peace and tranquillity but also a perfect base for exploring the splendours that Derbyshire and the Peak District have to offer. 🎉 Happy 5th Birthday, Wildhive Callow Hall! 🥳

Five years ago today, we opened our doors — and what a journey it's been. To mark the occasion, we're planting 1,820 native trees this autumn — one for every single day since Callow Hall opened. 🌳

We're teaming up with our friends at Silvatica (who most recently planted the beautiful biophilic courtyard at the new Wellbeing centre), to create a brand new woodland, and we'll be working with our local community to help us plant it.

Founders Ed and Charles said:
"We're really proud to be part of a project that gives back to the environment while bringing our community together. This woodland is about the next five years and beyond, not just the last five."

To everyone who's been part of this story — the incredible Wildhive team, our brilliant producers and suppliers, and every one of you who has visited, stayed, eaten and relaxed with us — thank you. We wouldn't be here without you. 💚

Join us at Wildhive Callow Hall on Sunday 27th September for a relaxing day of creativity, inspired by the beautiful gardens and grounds around us, followed by a light lunch in the Garden Room.

Guided by local artist, Kate Dawes, you'll learn the delicate art of pen and watercolour illustration — capturing leaves, blooms, and foliage with a mix of fine linework and soft washes of colour. No experience necessary, just a love of nature and a willingness to get creative! 🖋️🌸

Whether you're a seasoned artist or picking up a paintbrush for the first time, it's the perfect way to unwind, learn something new, and take home your very own botanical artwork.

Earlier in the month, we hosted influential Japanese travel buyers as part of a familiarisation trip with Visit Peak District & Derbyshire and VisitBritain, showcasing the region as a premium travel destination 🌿

The group enjoyed a tour of Wildhive Callow Hall before settling in for a classic English Afternoon Tea in our Wild Dining area, overlooking the meadow 🍰🍵

Join us on the Garden Room terrace for an evening of live-fire flavour, handcrafted cocktails and cold beers as the sun sets over the Derbyshire countryside.

Choose your favourites from the chiller — think Derbyshire lamb, fresh lobster and Merguez sausage — for our chefs to grill to order, served with all the sides, then finish things off with something sweet from our dessert selection.
