Beautiful Thors Cave through the morning mists today, you can just see a few people standing on the brow of the hill.

Wally is giving our dog friendly accommodation a thorough inspection to make sure it’s tip top for upcoming guests! Did you know that our camping is also open for the rest of the month before we close for winter?
The weather is absolutely beautiful and firepits are back in action to take the chill off those cooler evenings. There’s nothing quite like Autumn in the Peak District 🍁🍂🥾

Sunday treat in Hartington- cinnamon buns freshly baked everyday

Our ban on fires is still very much in place, since we’ve had some rain I’ve had some enquiries to see if we are lifting the ban.

unfortunately the ground is super dry and our grass and hedgerows still very brown, the rain we’ve had won’t touch the surface to make any real difference. Therefore, the ban remains until further notice. I appreciate this is disappointing for some but the safety of our guests and surrounding area is what’s most important so we appreciate your support as we head into the final weeks of summer.

happy camping !! 🏕️

For anyone staying with us or due to visit soon we have made the decision to prohibit the use of firepits for both camping and glamping. Due to the prolonged dry spell and ongoing wild fires in the area we have taken this precautionary measure to help reduce the risk of fire in the current conditions.

Gas bbqs are still fine to use provided they are raised from the ground and use the bricks provided to put underneath. We appreciate your support and understanding ✌️.

A wonderful day yesterday spent celebrating our village Wakes with the superb Warslow silver Band and The George at Alstonefield team working hard to keep the masses served. Thanks to all involved in keeping this tradition going and even the weather brightened up in the end ✌️
