The Smithy Fields Campsite is located in the centre of the quiet village of Alstonefield, with its idyllic setting in the heart of the peak district national park, Alstonefield provides the perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. The Smithy Fields is a small site with limited availability, although in the centre of the village the site has a private location while remaining in staggering distance to the village pub!

Our ban on fires is still very much in place, since we’ve had some rain I’ve had some enquiries to see if we are lifting the ban.

unfortunately the ground is super dry and our grass and hedgerows still very brown, the rain we’ve had won’t touch the surface to make any real difference. Therefore, the ban remains until further notice. I appreciate this is disappointing for some but the safety of our guests and surrounding area is what’s most important so we appreciate your support as we head into the final weeks of summer.

For anyone staying with us or due to visit soon we have made the decision to prohibit the use of firepits for both camping and glamping. Due to the prolonged dry spell and ongoing wild fires in the area we have taken this precautionary measure to help reduce the risk of fire in the current conditions.

Gas bbqs are still fine to use provided they are raised from the ground and use the bricks provided to put underneath. We appreciate your support and understanding ✌️.
