We’ve been incredibly busy in the run up to Saturdays’ sheep sale with movement restrictions for Bluetongue and vaccine shortages adding extra anxiety. The sheep did well at the market though and with us all needing to relax we took in some of the wonderful local tourism treats we would normally send our guests to. I didn’t get photos of everything we did but Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities - Kirkcudbright Tattoo was fantastic, as are their Scottish nights every Thursday through August.
Gelato at Ernespie Farm Shop & Kitchen - so good we were there twice this weekend
The ultimate fish n chips - lobster Swally 'n' Scran what a treat to have locally caught lobster for lunch! The girls managed a ride with the best horses and best views. All in all, a great weekend.
We’ve just opened our calendar for short breaks from September to April. Get yourself booked in for a weekend as good as ours (and we live here!)

At Bengairn Country Lodges, the farm has always been more than a place to grow food.

It’s a place to slow down, notice things, and remember what matters. Agritourism is simply the name for what happens when we open the gate and invite you in.

Here at Mains of Collin, the land feeds you, the quiet restores you, and the rhythm of the seasons does something that a city break simply can’t.

This isn’t a themed experience. It’s a working farm in the hills of Dumfries & Galloway, and you’re welcome to be part of it.

Some places don’t ask anything of you. Willow is one of them. 🌿

Loch views from the decking and light that skips across the water if you let yourself notice it.

Soft furnishings, a deep bath, rain shower, and two bedrooms that make sharing a lodge feel like everyone got the best room.

The outside world can wait. ☁️

The loch is right there. A gate, a few steps, and the whole morning ahead of you.

In Rowan, plans quietly disappear - hot tub before breakfast, fire pit after dark, and somewhere in between, absolutely nothing you need to be doing.

Two bedrooms, two en-suites, teal and soft greys, sofas you’ll argue over, and a deep bath that earns its keep after a day in the hills.

Dogs welcome. Fishing rods encouraged. Ambitions optional. 🌿
